Growing up the son of a very well-known and highly sought after pastor & spiritual consultant, we did many mission trips as a family. At age 8 I first went to Juarez, Mexico to assist families oppressed by the Mexican drug cartels. Starting at age 13, I traveled once or twice a year to Dominican Republic (and one time to Haiti) where we built lasting relationships and friendships, as well as completed multiple social-justice projects. I still visit them today, 10 years later. I graduated Virginia Tech with a BS in Environmental Resource Management (Environmental Economics). During my time there, I traveled twice to Nicaragua through an internship working with ecotourism and fuel-efficient cookstoves. After graduation, I moved to Nicaragua to assist the very rural San Jose de Bocay with various environmental projects. I am currently training a production team for a biomass briquettes business that I started. Once they are fully trained, I will hand the entire business over to them. I also am starting to teach English to a group of people in San Jose de Bocay.
