Hey, I'm Dan! I'm a solo traveler on a mission to see the world. 2.5 years ago, I left my career in New York to follow a dream of traveling full time. In the time since, I've ridden my motorcycle 50,000km from New York to southern Argentina, learned to sail (across two oceans), and ridden a bicycle across Patagonia. Furthermore, I've done everything while staying and volunteering in small communities along the way: these are the experiences that I'm most proud of. Meeting people with different perspectives is what gets me excited and motivated to continue traveling, and in 2023, I hope to continue that mission. I'm trying to stay with locals in as many places as I can along the way, and any help/advice you have is appreciated (even if not a place to sleep). Always excited to meet like-minded travelers, and hope you'll connect with me on Instagram, here: IG: danbriere_

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Gaining perspective through travel and the service of others is a guiding principle in my life. I believe that being able to truly empathize and understand one another is the single thread holding together many disparate cultures across the world, but it requires intentional practice and purposeful study. In many things I do, I seek to gain this empathy by going deeper into local cultures, "stepping in others' shoes", listening, and asking questions that matter. I've found that working/staying/volunteering with locals is one of the best ways to do this! I hope to stay with hosts along the way, but I'm also hoping to meet fellow Couchsurfers on the road. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'll be somewhere on the way!
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I've lived in the Swiss Alps, spent a winter under the shadow of Mt. Everest, sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, and am now leaving for the next adventure!
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
Aside from a tireless desire to share stories from the road, I have a wide range of interests/abilities and I pride myself in finding ways to be helpful with hosts/friends anywhere! If staying with you, the first question I will ask is: "how can I help out while I'm here?" (A few specific areas to mention that I'm happy to help with: mechanical/maintenance work, photography, writing / language. )
