Currently in Australia for 6 weeks on holidays, i do a roadtrip between Brisbane and Cairns. I started alone but i met other french guys who makes the roadtrip amazing (adventure, sharing,... great time!!) I would try the woofing. I think that's can be a very good thing to travel while disovering, learning a lot of interesting things which will change my way of life.
