Hi! I’m Guilherme (but feel free to call me William, Guillermo, or whatever works best for you). I’m a journalist who splits his time between two Brazilian states, Maranhão and Tocantins. I’ve also had the chance to live in other countries, like Russia and the Czech Republic, and I’m always looking to explore new experiences. I’m into sports and practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and I volunteer in social projects back home. I’m also a big animal lover—especially when it comes to horses! And, most importantly, I really enjoy meeting new people.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
In 2018, I decided to leave everything behind in Brazil to pursue personal and professional growth by traveling the world. I dream of helping to improve life in my country, and I believe that experiencing new cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds can teach me so much along the way. The Couchsurfing way of hosting is a perfect opportunity to connect deeply with new cultures and realities. That’s what drew me here—I’m excited to meet people, share stories, and exchange experiences, customs, traditions, food, and drinks from Brazil.

Leaving everything behind in Brazil to live abroad
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
I can teach my native language, Portuguese, and I’m happy to share the culture of my country, Brazil. I’m also eager to improve my English and learn other languages.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
I’m excited to share Brazilian culture with you—whether through music, food, literature, or stories. I’ve traveled extensively across Brazil and know a lot about its diverse regions and traditions. As a journalist, I’ve studied a wide range of subjects and gathered experiences that have taught me a lot. I’m also passionate about humanitarian work, especially projects focused on children, and would love to share more about these meaningful experiences. And, of course, I’m always up for grabbing a beer and having a great conversation! 🙂
