Hi! I'm Hanna. I'm very new to couchsurfing, but I've had a few good experience and I'm excited for more. I have a categorical knowledge of Star Trek, and a lot of unbridled enthusiasm for anything related to neuroscience, astronomy, animals, and design. I'm definitely an outdoor kid and I'll jump at the opportunity to hike, climb, bike, swim, kayak, and ski. In my free time I paint and draw (medical illustrations mostly) and try to learn new things like coding or whittling. I've recently become addicted to dancing Lindy Hop, and doing improv comedy. www.hannahillman.com

Musique, films et livres
MUSIC: Nearly everything. But especially classic rock (The Kinks), alt rock (Radiohead), old jazz and blues (Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Muddy Waters), Motown (Marvin Gaye), hip hop (Tribe Called Quest), indie (Shins, Iron and Wine), punk (Patti Smith), classical (Dvordak), 90's rap (Slick Rick, Nas), pop (Beyonce), showtunes (Sondheim), and classical (Shostakovich). Lately I've been hypnotized by Seu Jorge's "The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions" and Hamilton (of course). The last big name concert I went to was Adele. I also love love love the orchestra, did you know that in most US cities if you're under 40 you can usually go to classical performances at a [sometimes very] supplemented price? They want to induct us youngsters into the fine arts so that they don't lose donors and patronage. Works for me! BOOKS: Too many to list. I'm currently reading Evicted (Matthew Desmond) and Superintelligence (Nick Bostrom). Next on the docket is Sapiens (Yuval Noah Harari) and Lolita (Nabokov). Harry Potter forever. MOVIES: Pulp Fiction, Mulan, The Great Dictator, The Voyage Home (Star Trek), Godfather I & II, Star Wars, 90s Tom Hanks flicks, Pixar/Disney stuff, Lord of the Rings, Mad Max: Fury Road (because it was basically sexy twisted metal two with more explosions, I mean...come on, yes), Star Wars... Most anything directed by Quentin Tarantino These days I don't see many movies unless I'm with friends. But I really like old James Bond movies and Spaghetti Westerns, and I wish I had more time to watch them. TV: I don't own a TV anymore, but when I'm painting or drawing it's all about Star Trek. I've seen it all (I even suffered through Enterprise) but TNG and Original is best. DS9 has exceptional character development. Voyager has great plot continuity. I can also pretty much recite any line from The Office or Parks & Rec verbatim.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I used to be in charge of TEDxUMN and I was fortunate enough to go to an actual TEDglobal conference in Rio de Janeiro. While there some really smart and inspiring people convinced me to quit school. So I did, and for a year I travelled and worked as a business consultant, science writer, and researcher.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
A lot of really bad puns and dad jokes. Some (hopefully) not so bad stories.
