I'm a teacher and writer, originally from London, but have been travel-teaching since 2012, mostly in Slovakia and Kazakhstan. I'm currently heading out for a new teaching position in Korea and am looking forward to doing some travelling on the way - since it's a long way!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I'm fairly itinerant at the moment, which means I'm rarely in a good position to reciprocate the generous hosting I often receive via this site. However, I look forward to having a good, warm, spacious home in the future to offer guests. More generally, I think couchsurfing is an excellent way to shift the emphasis of travel away from 'collecting experiences,' and towards meeting people, forming relationships, and helping each other out.
Musique, films et livres
Books: lots of German literature (Robert Musil, Franz Kafka, Thomas Bernhard especially) American literature (William Faulkner, Cormac McCarthy and Don DeLillo especially) Irish literature (Samuel Beckett and James Joyce), Russian literature (Turgenev, Dostoevsky, Bulgakov) French literature (Guy de Maupassant, Gustav Flaubert, Marcel Proust) - and then some Czech / Romanian / Norwegian writers, too. And then, of course, hundreds of films and songs.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
Felt okay for an entire day
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
I know a lot about anthropology and literature. I have an awful lot of experiencing of teaching English - from low to high levels, and I've worked as a tutor for most GCSE subjects (biology, chemistry, chemistry, maths, religious studies). I can play guitar a little.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
English language! In terms of expertise, that's pretty much it. I also know 6 jokes.
Mes centres d'intérêt
Honestly, pretty much everything. Even films and books and music I don't like interests me, because it represents something about the world. And often the less I know about something the more interested I am in it.
