Couchserfing is an easy way to find friends and soulmates, to get rid off biases, to spend time expanding your frames and changing your outlook. It is not only about drinking coffee together and going sightseeing, but more about helping each other and developing together.

As for books, I'm reading all the time and can't say for sure that I have a favorite genre or special book that struck me.
