Hi all! My name is Jay, I’m 24 years old and am from Australia. I’m currently traveling the world, and looking to travel hopefully until the end of the year! About me and my story: In Australia, I work with disadvantaged youth and children as a mentor / youth worker. Im also currently studying at university and completing a bachelor of nursing. Both of which I love, however… That means studying and working full time, hence why I’m taking a break to travel while I’m still young! I sold everything I owned, vacated my house, put my studies on hold and quit my job. I then put everything into a bag and took off! ✈️ I’ve only ever traveled solo, and my first ever time going overseas was only last year! So far It’s been great, and I especially love getting off the beaten path and having true authentic experiences; be a traveler and not a tourist as they say! I’m currently finding my travel style and I’m starting to really come into my own with it; slow travel, authentic experiences, “as the locals do” moments, hitchhiking, couch surfing ect these are what I’ve found give me the biggest sense of fulfilment in regards to traveling! I’m new to couch surfing, so I’m keen to get some experience! I will look to become a host when I return to Australia!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I’m looking to have true authentic travel experiences! either hangouts or stays, I’m always open to anything new! I want to learn about different cultures and ways of life, and have genuine experiences. as I mentioned earlier, I’m trying to be a traveler and not a tourist!
Musique, films et livres
I’ll listen to anything as cliche as it sounds! I don’t watch many movies to be honest! so I’m always after recommendations. as for books, I’m definitely a non-fiction person!
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
I can’t say anything I’ve done has been amazing (humbly) but most people think it’s pretty cool that I’ve ran an ultra marathon!
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
This question has stumped me! Sort of like when you’re at a job interview and they ask you for three strengths and weaknesses … however, I’m open to being taught or learning just about anything, and I’m sure I’ll find something I can share and give back too.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
again one that has stumped me! so far all I think I can offer is a respectful guest! which is sometimes the best thing! however, I understand that CS isn’t just a free house! so whatever you might need I’m keen to contribute! It could be some work in the garden you need help with, a project you’re working or maybe I can just buy you a coffee (: it’s an experience for me also!
