Couchsurfing gives a first hand local experience of a country and its people which cannot be compared with living in some hostel. You get to see the hidden gems of a place from a local's point of view. And, most importantly, I simply love meeting new people from different countries, I like getting inspired by them, by their way of life, thinking, by their travel stories. Every time I learn something new from couchsurfer, and so far I have met just wonderful people, with many of whom I stay in contact even after long time and hopefully forever..:)
