Hi! I'm a half British/ half German vegetarian currently doing my PhD at the University of York. I have lots of family in countries across the world so I am not a stranger to new places! I grew up mainly in southern England but I also lived in Jordan for six years whilst I was still quite young. I'm an ambivert, but I thrive most in situations where I meet people who have the same open and curious attitude about the world as me.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I have couchsurfed several times now and the more I couchsurf, the more I recognise my reasons for being and continue being on Couchsurfing. Every single Couchsurfing experience has been so different from the one before and I'm always looking forward to seeing how my next stay will turn out. I love meeting new people and being able to share all kinds of things with them - from funny stories to really tasty local meals. My travelling style has been, currently is, and always will be to wing it. I don't go anywhere with a full set of plans. I just kind of pick a place that I've heard of before and decide to spend a couple of days there. If a host has any recommendations or wants to hang out, I am up for doing almost anything!
Musique, films et livres
Music - I like quite a lot of the catchy pop songs - but I'm still picky about them. I absolutely adore country music (my friends make fun of me for that because of my Britishness). I also like quite a lot of music from the 90s and the 00s. Books - Hardcore fantasy fan. If a book has dragons in it, I will read it.
Une chose incroyable que j'ai faite
During the summers of 2016 and 2017 I have done biology field research in the Appalachian mountains on the forked fungus beetle (look them up - they're pretty cool). Part of my research involved the discovery of beetle behaviour changes occurring in the field whereas before these behavioural changes had only been seen in a laboratory setting!
Enseigner, apprendre, partager
Right now, I have only surfed and never hosted. As a student it's difficult for me to do the hosting part and very easy to do the surfing part. I'd like to give back to the community by hosting one day but that's unfortunately quite a bit into the future. Instead I can give back by sharing my company. I like to bake (the UK has a lot of good desserts) so if you ever want to try a scone, flapjack, or victoria sponge, I can make you one! I also love learning about other people's traveling experiences and would love recommendations.
Ce que je peux offrir à mes hôtes
I love to cook, learn new languages, and go sightseeing.
