Hiya! As you can see, my name is MaryKate Horak (Hor-awk). I'm a 20-year-old currently living in Iowa. I'm transferring from a college in Florida to Iowa State University, so I am taking this semester off to do as much cool stuff as possible. I play violin, ukulele, and can sing, I can do a wonderfully creepy chipmunk voice, can hold my breath for over 2 minutes, and enjoy climbing things. Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I figure that in order to really learn about the ways of life in other countries you have to put yourself in situations that you just wouldn't find in a safe little hotel room. But I'm sure that's a common theme amidst this site.
Musique, films et livres
Music: Bon Iver, Jack Johnson, Iron and Wine, Nora Jones, Donovan Frankenreiter... and any orchestra performance from the Baroque period hehe Movies: 180 South, Vegucated, 7 Pounds, The Pursuit of Happiness, OH GOSH AND PLANET EARTH. "Amazing" is a relative term... I'm still amazed that I wake up and live each day. But hey I've gone night diving with sharks and octopi in Cozumel. That's kind of neat, right?
