Because it's a fast track to getting to know a place like a local and you can meet new people! Let's face it, no one knows a place like the people who live there. Though I am a tourist, I would rather experience a truer representation of the places I go. Hopefully I can return the favor to whoever lets me stay with them when I move back to the states!

I like all kinds of music but especially Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, R&B, and Raggae. Really open to whatever though. I love to read! A few books I read recently that I really like are: A Brief History of 7 Killings by Marlon James, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. My favorite TV shows at the moment are Game of Thrones (of course right?), The Wire, Breaking Bad, Black-ish, and Atlanta.
