Hi! I am canoeing down the Mississippi River and need a safe place in Davenport!

I am currently doing my (almost) source to sea journey down the Mississippi River and going to arrive in Davenport tomorrow morning and wondering if there's a safe place to either pull up to shore & camp, or store the canoe & stay with someone in town for a couple days. It is me and my dog, so it makes it a bit trickier. Any advice?

You may know already but If your are keen on camping their are nice campgrounds, on river either side of lock and dam #14. Corps of Eng. above and Illiniwik below dam. Easier to get into boat ramp at Illiniwik. If you need we could likely pick you and the kayak at Port Byron boat ramp. We overlook ,near the river, a mile down but boat access isn't great unless river very high and can come up creek. I might even want to kayak a couple hours with you! Thinking The corps or eng campground would require a dangerous cross current above rollers to the lock on Iowa side. Even illiniwik will require quick crossing from lock exit but there is a 1/4 mile of riverside beachable campsites below the boat ramp.
