www.vasttrafik.se Vasttrafik To Go application to pay for your ticket. It's possible to go without paying as well with a small risk of getting caught. To Kortedala goes tram lines and bus. Check the website for schedule.
Google maps is always the best alternative to see your route in Gothenburg. It will tell you how to walk(to the tram and inbetween transfers), what number of the tram/bus and where it goes from. The actual ticket can be bought from the app "Västtrafik, To Go", or easiest ON the actual tram/bus, even though a true Gothenburgian never pays for a ticket!! Enjoy your stay!!!
Theres also an option to save maps and routes offline in google maps if you have no data

The bus from the airport to the city is through the app Flygbussarna (schedules and buying tickets). The rest of the city transportation is done through västtrafik. Västtrafik has 2 apps: one for buying tickets (västtrafik To Go), and one for searching schedules (Reseplanerare). Of course, you can also buy tickets on the bus/tram, but if you want simple the apps can do it for you no problem! ;-)
Pro tip: Ask for a local transportation (Västtrafik) ticket on the transfer bus (Flygbussarna) and they will print you a receipt that covers your first trip as you arrive in the city.
Do not recommend cheating with the ticket. The fee by being caught is approximately 100 euros. If you are staying for just a few days I mean there are some kind of a combined ticket. If you are staying a whole month there is a monthly ticket which costs some 50 euros, if I am not mistaking (it is valid only within the boundarys of the town hall -- which by the way are rather extensive besides southwards). Single ticket costs some 2 or 2,50 euro -- depending on in which way you buy it. Cheers and have a nice stay!
