I & my GF will be in this lovely city in a few days, we've read a lot about the city and we've checked with google where to go and what to do to wear people shoes there, we listed some questions that might help us, we will really appreciate it if you can help us:

How long does it take to discover the city and try the food there?? how much money we should reserve for the hostel and food for these days ??
Do you recommend hostels or special places to stay (we are not into fancy hotels)?
Any special places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner ??
Special food or drink we MUST try like we shouldn't leave without trying it?
Any specific time of the year where there is a famous event in the city so we should postpone our trip ??
Historical and touristic places we should visit ?? ( not mentioned on Google :p )
Is there any prices for students in museums and restaurants ??
Is it a safe city ?? can we be late at night ??
Any other recommendation or things to do in the city or nearby ??

Bonjour, Tout dépend de la période à laquelle vous venez, parfois la ville est calme, parfois il y a énormément d'évènements permettant de découvrir la vie et la culture locales. Je ne saurai vous conseiller sur les hôtels. Pour ma part, la première fois que je suis venu ici j'ai choisi de faire du camping dans un village à quelques kilomètres au sud. Pour la gastronomie, il y a quelques enseignes emblématiques : Nivon (http://www.nivon.com/), Daily Pic (https://dailypic.fr/dailypic-valence/) et l'éPICerie (https://www.anne-sophie-pic.com/epicerie/), la pâtisserie Guillet (https://www.guillet.com/) ou encore le glacier chocolatier Chauvet (https://www.pierrechauvet.com/points-de-vente/valence/). Les spécialités locales : le Suisse de Valence (un biscuit) et la Pogne (sorte de brioche). La meilleure option pour ressentir l'âme locale et tous les bons produits du territoire, c'est de faire le marché du samedi matin, place des Clercs. Les grands événements : le festival "Sur le champ" en juillet, "Valence en gastronomie festival" fin septembre, et les féeries d'hiver en décembre. Le musée est gratuit le premier dimanche de chaque mois. Des visites guidées parfois insolites (visites à la torche) sont organisées par le service pays d'art et d'histoire (http://www.valenceromansagglo.fr/fr/des-services-au-quotidien/culture/patrimoine/pays-d-art-et-d-histoire.html). Il y a énormément de choses à voir autour de Valence également : la Cité du chocolat Valrhona, le château de Crussol, la chapelle de St Romain de Lerps et sa vue époustouflante, le plus grand port fluvial de France (port de l'Epervière), des promenades en bateau sur le Rhône, le village troglodyte de Châteauneuf-sur-Isère. Pour de plus longs séjours on peut s'écarter encore, les départements de la Drôme et de l'Ardèche regorgent de trésors en matière de curiosités et paysages... Bon séjour !

How long does it take to discover the city and try the food there??

The Valence is quiet small, in 1 day you can visit the city center.

how much money we should reserve for the hostel and food for these days ?? I dont know for the hostel but for food you have many choices. The most famous restaurant is Pic (3 stars michelin) one of the best restaurant in the world (around 300e per person). You can also found good restaurants for 20e or 30e all aroud the city. There is a big albanese and armenian community, i like very much their food.

Do you recommend hostels or special places to stay (we are not into fancy hotels)? I prefer airbnb to meet local people but i dont think you'll find a lot in valence..

Special food or drink we MUST try like we shouldn't leave without trying it? VALENCE is in the valley du Rhône, famius wine a product around. You should try od buy croze hermitage ans saint joseph wine with are product in the city close to valence.

( not mentioned on Google :p ) I like walking aroud "les canaux" tiny river in the city and across parcs and forest. 30 to 45 min around valence there is a lot of famous place to visite: chocolat museum valrhona, shoes museum in romans, ideal palace of cheval in hauterive, pugres safari
Is there any prices for students in museums and restaurants ?? In general yes and most of them are free first sunday of the month.
Is it a safe city ?? can we be late at night ?? I guess yes
Any other recommendation or things to do in the city or nearby ?? There is a place calles the LUX where you can watch shows and movies from artists or people around.
