why I hate television

when you wath at the television you're liked with a world made of peoples (and too much often it's not good peoples at all) and of products while the Real World is composed of feels, sensations, light, time, sounds, realityes, eyes of friends and being happy or sad or mad or chilled. whe should'nt watch television at all

(but some movies are great, check out the new world by terrence malick!)

We made the decision of not having TV in our lives about 10 years ago, and it´s still surprising to some people, and really satisfactory to us. What makes us most sad about Tv is that some people, specially children, think that there is no option, "everybody has a Tv and that´s it!" It doesn´t occur to them to challenge the fact.

I think having a TV on in the background alleviates those awkward moments when people can't think of what to say next or look the other in the face. But we need those moments! How else can you ever get past a superficial level of conversation with someone in their loungeroom? What about those pubs ("sports bars") that have 6 flat screen TVs in the main room? hahahah. Its definately surreal! Paolo, I like the phrase 'mr english' its funny!

Well, I do not want to plan or liove my day upon a TV timetable. There much more ways to entertain yourself (if you can call it like this) and getting information about things you really want to know. There is a difference between watching movies or documentaions (at the moment you want) and the dictate of television.
