Twin Cities CouchCrash Aug. 7-10th, 2014
This is a Save-The-Date notice for the Minneapolis/St. Paul CouchCrash!
Bikes, Beaches, and Beauty! The Twin Cities is a very dynamic metropolitan area and since winter lasts so long here, we like to get out and live summer to the fullest. In the Land of 10,000 Lakes and avid cyclists, we make sure to get out and enjoy the beauty of our beaches and warm weather. We hope you can join us for a fun-filled, active, and relaxing weekend in the Twin Cities.
WHO? Gathering of Couchsurfers from throughout the country and world WHAT? A weekend of events to bring people together, to experience the Twin Cities to the fullest WHERE? Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota WHY? To connect with fellow couchsurfers and this is YOUR opportunity to come see why Twin Cities is consistently rated the best place to live, best place to BIKE, great BEACHES (lakes), and BEAUTY (art and nature), and BURGEONING BEER SCENE .
This year's crash will also occur during Irish Fair! Irish Fair on Harriet Island- where Couchsurfers go head to head with all things Irish, including live Irish music, and plenty O beer tents. http://www.irishfair.com/
Some TC CouchCrash highlights in the works include:
-Bikes: Tour the highlights of the city and perhaps even bike to and from different events. (If you come sans bike, have no fear! There are Nice Ride bikes available around the cities and public transit galore, including a new light rail line connecting the cities.)
-Beaches: Aquatic Adventures: Canoeing, Kayaking , Swimming on one of our gorgeous lakes. Including our ‘Not So Secret Hidden Beach’ - where mud fights are a daily adventure.
-Beauty- Art crawl to various museums and galleries including our internationally recognized Walker Art Museum and Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Not forgetting our very own NE Minneapolis Arts District!
-Brewery: Pubs, pubs, pubs! We love our pubs. There will be at least one pub crawl, and perhaps two. Including visits to our nationally recognized microbreweries! Did we mention we like beer?
-Potluck dinners, BBQs, Farmer's Markets, and as always, our Farewell Picnic.
