Bonjour! In April I'm planning a trip with my family with caravan. What is the weather like at that time?

I have two small children ( 2,5 yrs and 6 months). I don't want us to get cold but April is the only month when we could go there :)

Yes, because the weather could be perfect or the worst between 10 kilometrer. Around the Alpes mountains the weather change quickly but on the planes it's more stable. Acording by me april on a caravan is a good season in PACA region because the temperature began good. Explain your plan and you will have more precises answers ;)

Yes, depends on where you go. On the coast, the weather is cool. Just behind the coastline you have mountains all along. If you are in low altitude, the weather in april is cool (can be above 20 degrees celsius but still cold during the nights (can freeze). If you go up, you remove 1 degree celsius per 100m altitude more or less!

agree with Bruce, all year the weather is dry around here (Hautes-Alpes - PACA), the spring could be a bit fresh without sun, but almost the time: there are no clouds so, I think April is the start of the good season for caravan.

Dear Jerneja, in april it is imprevisible - it can snow as it can be up to 20 °...We have a small campsite at 1000m altitude in the south alpes, haute provence and open the 14th of april. Would be nice to welcome you and your children!! you may check our website www.camping-mandala.fr it is in english as well. In any case you have to bring warm gear; evenings are always fresh at that time even at the seaside. all the best!
