Hi Aleksandra. I don't know anyone particularly with a room for rent. Airbrb and craigslist.com are good places to check. If you want you can send me the area's your looking at staying in Downtown and I can tell you if it's safe, and what's around that area. Downtown tampa social life is ok. Channel side and Ybor are the restaurants and night life. Downtown St Pete is friendlier for restaurants, bars, culture and has the water front Pier area.
Hi Aleksandra,
I have a room for rent just 2 miles north of downtown Tampa in a beautiful neighborhood. Call me at 813-410-6856. My name is Ellen. I haven't advertised it yet because I've been working so much but it's available now for $500 a month including all utilities.
Check craigslist.org
Hi Aleksandra,
Downtown Tampa typically is considered Ybor city which I wouldn't recommend a single female woman trying to rent a room in. It's a touristy area, but it is also filled to the brim with drug addicts and homeless people. You may be lucky enough to find a house nice enough to stay in, but you most likely won't find a neighborhood you'll feel comfortable enough to walk outside alone in.
If you want to stay near downtown Tampa, I would suggest instead north Tampa (by USF) only a 10 -12 min ride.
If you're willing to take a much longer bus ride, Clearwater or st Pete would be even better.
Good luck!
Aleksandra, What are your dates that u need and where downtown Tampa do u have to be. I might be able to accommodate you. Let me know
Are you looking for a place to live for an extended period or just a place to couchsurf for a little while?
Just to clarify... there are different sections to "Tampa", the better well known are Ybor City (away from downtown and you see everything down there, it used to be ghetto, now they're doing better things in there), Downtown (that's finally getting some sort of life), Hyde Park area (more of the pompous area), Tampa Heights (Hipster area, still growing)... I would say, if you are super chill and relax, go to Saint Pete, lots of arts and cool people.
In palm harbor, there a place.
Try Craigslist or maybe Airbnb. Ybor is a bad a neighborhood, like someone else said, but it's not downtown. Downtown itself is pretty safe. I live in Hyde Park, which is just on the other side of downtown and is also a nice neighborhood.
