Have decided that I'll stay around in BKK for Songkran (so far, but could change). Lets meetup for dinner at W Market (https://maps.app.goo.gl/9fJAdhPEq1qhVZ4k9) a few days before the water festival. The place has a large section of food and drink (You pay yourself, cash or possibly credit card at some vendors - but best to bring cash in case. Some may also do QR scanning too)
