Essex is a beautiful county. Come and explore its history and countryside on this walk. I will be walking this long distance footpath over 8 days (with a break day in the middle) . It is 81 miles long! You are welcome to join me for one day or more. An adventurous spirit is needed, especially as we may need to wild camp on the last few nights. I will work out the plan in more detail but here is an overview: Sat 22nd August 9AM: Meet at the plaque Essex Way Long Distance Footpath at EPPING STATION Walk Epping to Ongar In Ongar (Overnight Couchsurfing or wild camp) Sun 23rd August Ongar to Salt's Green STATION: Ongar (Overnight Couchsurfing in Chelmsford or wild camp) Monday 24th August Walk Salt's Green to Chatham Green Nearest Station: Chelmsford then local bus 59 from Chelmsford Bus Station to Salt's Green (Overnight Couchsurfing at my cottage) Tues 25th August Walk Chatham Green to White Notley Nearest Station: Chelmsford then bus to Chatham Green (Overnight Couchsurfing at my cottage) Wed 26th August Walk White Notley to Coggeshall Nearest Station: White Notley or given lift to starting point if taking part in rest day (Overnight Couchsurfing at my cottage) Thursday Rest day at my cottage in Chatham Green (Overnight Couchsurfing at my cottage) PART 2 Friday 28th August Walk Coggeshall to West Bergholt Nearest Station is Kelvedon then local bus (Accommodation - maybe a CS host in Colchester area) Sat 29th August Walk West Bergholt to Dedham Nearest Station: Colchester North Station then local bus (Accommodation TBC - probably camping - I have found a campsite) Sun 30th August Walk Dedham to Wrabness Nearest Station: Manningtree then local bus (Accommodation Wildcamping) Mon 31st August Walk Wrabness to Harwich Nearest Station Wrabness End of walk Photos by the Essex Way Plaque to show we did it! (Train back from Harwich or find a Couchsurfing Host or maybe a lift can be arranged to nearby town/city) *My partner will offer us support towards the end of the walk (food etc).

9am Meet at EPPING STATION at the plaque showing the start of the Essex Way.
Walk - APPROX 10 miles/16 kilometres
A steady pace with generous breaks.
Wear good shoes, legs covered. sun hat Bring enough water and food Only wild toilets until we get to ONGAR
This part of the walk is especially beautiful, through lots of woodland.
ONGAR station has return transport links.
