ABOUT ME Optimistic pessimist or pessimistic optimist.
I'm a photographer on the way to becoming a journalist, currently living and working in the GBA, Canton. I'm planning to continue my studies in France soon. For me, photography is where stories begin — a way to reach out and to see the world with a bit more tenderness. Documenting has always been at the heart of what I do; through visuals, I try to understand how people and places shape one another. I've wandered through the streets of Bangkok at dawn and climbed Hallasan in Korea alone, slowly realizing that leaving China doesn't necessarily mean entering the world. I've learned to keep my curiosity alive, and along the way, I've found that what I love most is listening to stories. Field research has become my second window into the world. I didn't change Africa, but Africa changed me. My first field trip was in Kenya — an investigation into wildlife conservation. We visited local NGOs, animal welfare advocates, and residents from Maasai communities. The second was in Sichuan, the home of pandas, focusing on local lifestyles and values. The third took me to Hanoi, Vietnam, where I explored perspectives on the “Global South.” And perhaps, the next one will happen in Istanbul… I truly believe that there's no better way to understand a culture than living in a local friend's home. That's probably why I'm here on Couchsurfing — to experience different ways of life through real encounters, and to share my own stories in return. Nice to meet you, and I hope our paths cross somewhere in the world.
🐘Holi :) this is Labu from Hangzhou, China (I live in Guangzhou now) Past life: A Peruvian from the Andes ⛰️🦙 This life: A global citizen from China 🥢🥟 I consider myself as a global citizen, and I want to live like a nomad, deeply understanding as many cultures as possible within my limited lifespan, broadening my perspective and enriching my life. I started solo traveling since I was 18 and it has greatly changed me: the people I've met and the things I've seen along the way have helped me grow, allowing me to discover a second and third self beyond my primary identity 🌍 Couchsurfing is a community full of love for me. Through this platform, I have met many amazing people and received so much kindness and love. Now I would like to host travelers from all around the world in Guangzhou and continue spreading that love. Before sending me a couch request, please take a moment to read my Home Section. Thank you so much! 🤞

My name is Wang Zhiyang, you can call me Yangzai or wang. Born in 1992, I grew up in Chongqing after being born in Hebei and now live in Foshan with my wife. I’ve been a couch host for ten years and rarely stay at others’ places as a guest. I used to work as a sound and lighting technician for live shows, and now I mainly run cloud warehouses across the country selling and renting microphones for concerts. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, working out, cycling, playing football and basketball. I love meeting interesting, vibrant and soulful people. My wife Dongdong and I live in a four-bedroom house. You’re more than welcome to stay! My wechat:wangzhiyangyangzai

I am open to meet ups, occasionally I can host, BUT prefer someone with common interests or with a descent profile. Sorry my schedule doesn't allow me to host everyone.

Hi, I'm Takaji chen. I am from China and I love to travel and Learning foreign language. I learned about CS through a friend's introduction, and I hope to have more unknown experiences and make different friends on my future travels. peace!
Important note for guests: On weekdays, I leave home around 7:00–7:15 a.m. and usually return around 7:00 p.m. Guests need to be comfortable following this schedule. If it does not work for you, I may not be able to host you on workdays. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, hiking and trekking. I am also passionate about landscape and cultural photography, and I love meeting people along the way. I have travelled across Nepal, Indonesia, Myanmar, Japan, Kamchatka, the Philippines, Malaysia, Qatar, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Portugal, Spain and nearly every region of China. I have also made brief visits to Vietnam and Singapore. After walking the Camino through Portugal and Spain, I thought more deeply about what I could give to—and what I hoped to find in—the Couchsurfing community: sharing and learning. I am deeply grateful that Couchsurfing has introduced me to so many kind and friendly people. For me, it is much more than finding a place to sleep; it is about genuine cultural exchange and seeing the world through different perspectives. Meeting friends from different countries feels a little like filling a Pokémon Pokédex—every friendship opens a new window onto the world. It is always a pleasure to meet you. Good thoughts, good words, good deeds. Instagram: @havenzyen
Hello 🥰 ## Please 🙏 read my profile carefully before writing to me.... ( it’s really bad to request me for a stay without reading my profile) guys come on😏 Im NOT in turkey im ın a long business trıp ın chına which mean i cant host cz im in a trip its not my hometown 🙈☺️THANK you **(I don't smoke or drink alcohol(I don't mind if you do). I'm Müslim and i respect all other religions 😇 so i expect the same thing)** *I don't talk about religions and politics. *It doesn't matter where you're u from or who you're, We are all human beings. i will be so happy to guide you or show you around when I can 🥰 Im an open-minded girl (With limits 🤗).....Enjoying every day like is the last in my life.. I love traveling every time I can, because i enjoyed meeting new people from different countries, to exchange everything languages... cultures... local food... knowledge.......ect , i love nature, hikking, taekwondo, football, being positive and healthy, eating good and sharing time, knowledge and smile, i looooove cooking....(My friends say that I'm good, but you have to try) You won't have a problem with me. I speak fluently Arabic English French Spanish and Turkish. I'm open to learning other languages 😉
Explore the world and cherish every moment. 🌈 I work as software engineer👨🏽💻 for a bank and base in Guangzhou, China. I am so-called “language enthusiast” and enjoy learning different languages as well as the cultures behind them. Open for giving (if I can) or receiving advice. 📝 While I try to help with enquiries , I believe there’s some common sense that everyone in the CS community would know what kind of request is fine and what doesn’t make much sense. Here’s some examples I have actually received so far: • Can you advise me where to visit in Guangzhou? (Sure.) • Can you advise where I can find some local taste while I’m Muslim/vegetarian/vegan ? (Sure.) • Can you advise me where to visit in Shenzhen/Foshan/Zhuhai/the cities near Guangzhou? (Maybe. I’m more familiar with my own city but I will try help with my limited knowledge about nearby cities) • Can you find me an apartment I’m going to move to your city soon? (No, but I can give you advice how to find by yourself) • Can you find me a job? (No.) • Can you sponsor my visa? (No.) • Can you register and form a company with me in your city so I can apply for a business visa? (??? No.) Cannot list all situations, just please think before sending. If you intend to ask for a host, please consider below points: •I cannot foresee my plan more than 2 weeks in advance. You can still send an early request but I can only set to “Maybe” and give you answer until a nearer date when I can confirm my schedule. • Normally I host only 2-3 nights maximum at the start, if we get along well and I’m available, the stay can be extended. • Please read the details in “My Home” section. I have sleep apnea and snore during sleep, so I would bring a mini respirator with me during travel to counter that for the well-being of my CS host / other people in hostel. 🥲 When I’m at home I have a standard size respirator also for my own sake to get better sleep but I might not use it every day, if you stay with me and find the snore hard to handle, just don’t feel shy and remind me to put it on.
I’m from Guangzhou, China, and work in digital advertising. I travel quite a lot, usually on my own, and somehow I always seem to have another trip planned. I’m the kind of traveler who can spend hours walking around a neighborhood without a particular destination — looking for good food, coffee, interesting shops, taking photos, or just seeing what everyday life looks like. I enjoy famous places too, but I’m usually more curious about what’s happening around them. I’m into photography, music, K-pop, Japanese and Korean dramas, cafés, food, and discovering random things that I know very little about. I can get surprisingly interested in completely ordinary things if someone tells me the story behind them. I’m fairly independent and easygoing. I enjoy meeting people and having good conversations, but I’m not someone who needs to be surrounded by people all the time. I’m equally happy exploring a city together, having a meal or coffee, or doing our own thing for a while. I’ve traveled quite a bit around Asia and am now exploring more of Europe. I’m interested in meeting people who can show me a different side of their city — not necessarily the hidden “secret spots”, but the places and everyday experiences that make it feel like home to them. I’m always happy to share food, travel stories, photos, music recommendations, or just spend a few hours wandering around somewhere with no real plan.
