Moved to Paris, France to be a fille au pair when I was 22 and then taught English there for a year. I was fortunate enough to do a lot of traveling while I lived in Europe. Moved back to the states when I was 25 to begin my career, but I never lost my passion for travel.
Hi! I am an Engineer from Arkansas, USA but I’ve spent much of my life looking beyond my own corner of the world. I earned my Bsc and MSc in Engineering finishing in Germany, worked at the United Nations in Geneva, have lived in 4 countries, and have traveled to +45 countries. I’ve couchsurfed many times and still believe the best part of traveling is meeting people and experiencing everyday life through their eyes. I especially enjoy hiking, ancient sites, dramatic scenery, and going off the beaten path. I’m easygoing, patient, open-minded, and happiest when a trip leaves room for spontaneity. Detailed itineraries are not really my style. I prefer to see where the journey takes me. Money is not an issue so if you want to join or guide me I am happy to help cover costs. :) **The only people I have a hard time with are the ones who say they are "Open minded" and then list the 10 topics and peoples and groups they hate in the world. *
Hello Friends! I am Ravindra Singh Thakur, a passionate traveler and science professional currently based in the United States. My journey of world exploration has taken me across different continents and exposed me to diverse cultures and communities, which has been both enriching and enlightening. I work as a dedicated Researcher at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where my focus is on developing innovative solutions to some of the most pressing public health challenges. Traveling and exploring new cultures is one of my greatest passions. I believe that experiencing the world through the eyes of locals provides a deeper and more meaningful understanding of each place I visit. Couchsurfing offers a unique platform to connect with amazing people, share stories, and create lasting memories. In addition to my professional pursuits, I enjoy hiking, driving, singing, storytelling and indulging in different cuisines. Whether it's a casual chat over a cup of coffee or a guided tour of your favorite local spots, I'm excited to connect and exchange experiences. I am looking forward to meeting new friends, learning about your culture, and sharing insights from my own journey. Let's make our travel experiences unforgettable together! CURRENT MISSION Be kind, be courageous, have fun AND help others! ABOUT ME I love life and adventure and I can't stand to be bored. I never tire of learning new things and I desperately want to see as much of the world as I can manage. Newlywed to my best friend, Terrance and determined to honeymoon for the rest of our lives. We just bought a house and have managed to unpack almost everything. Work keeps me busy and traveling a lot but hoping to help coordinate some more local stuff with the Little Rock CSers now that I'm firmly planted down here (former Fayetteville CSer). Oh yeah, I'm also trying to figure out how to get to Europe and couchsurf for a week or so SOON without going broke. Promised myself I'd do a Jane Austen tour and I mean to get that done! PHILOSOPHY Go hard or go home!

In my region of the USA, Southern Hospitality is a real thing and very much part of my upbringing. It’s a privilege to share time or a meal with good folks and learn about their lives. I've traveled with the intention to grow my worldview and appreciation of places, people and cultures beyond my own hometown. I’m a curious and adventurous soul. I'm Earl. I’m gay and welcoming of other kind spirited folk who also enjoy connecting. I’m currently single, and a pretty simple guy. As a host, I welcome male travelers. First time user on this app. I like to hike, explore, raft, skydive (occasionally), and check out the local scenes. I prefer towns over cities, and bars over clubs. There's nothing better than having a drink at the local bar or brewery and meeting the locals.
Hello! My name is Mai and I’m a solo female traveler. I enjoy adrenaline activities, exploring the outdoors, and trying new things. **I am new on cs for this trip I’m currently on so I haven’t been able to host** I am traveling throughout Europe starting in early May until September. I enjoy sightseeing, trying new foods, going to markets, local events, learning about local life and new cultures. 💃🏻 My goal is to Latin dance in every country and continue my guitar lessons from my hosts. 😂 I have been fortunate to start learning the guitar/ukulele from my hosts and think it’s been funny to go to different countries and learn the guitar. Quick facts about me: - ENFP through and through - really into personal growth and confronting fear - I feel like I’ve lived two completely different lives (I’ve transformed my life both physically, spiritually, and mentally…happy to share my personal transformation journey in person) - licensed skydiver - a bit silly and clumsy at times - people have been entertained by me whether laughing at me or with me 😂🤷🏻♀️ - love trying new foods or activities - taught for 5+ years - love bachata and zouk (can dance a little bit of salsa) - competed in a mud bug eating contest...and didn't win the contest, but I got 5 lbs of crawdads and beer for $20 bucks so I’d say that’s a win. 🦞 - hitchhiked from Germany to Austria 🥾 - scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef 🪸 - I trust a 14 year old kid to pack my parachute - A 14 year old kid tattooed me. Some of my travel experiences include: - journalism study abroad in Bolivia - solo travel in Italy, Vietnam, Australia, Japan - couples travel in Canada, Fiji - lived abroad for a year in my van in New Zealand I prefer slow travel and getting to immerse myself into the local culture. I'm a native English speaker and I'm interested in learning more languages (particularly Vietnamese, French, German, or Spanish). Please don’t friend request me if we haven’t met. Clearly this note hasn’t worked because I still get very random friend requests from people I have never messaged before. 🤔
I’m always looking for new ways to connect with people and the world around me. I am wanting to step outside of myself and learn about you. I’m here to listen to your stories. I’d love to share some of my own, too, and make more! I am passionate about music, art, and animals!
Hi I'm Ali! I currently live in Little Rock, AR and accommodate surfers when I can! I've done a good amount of traveling and met many amazing people through Couchsurfing. So I'm always looking to pay that forward and meet a new pal! My boy and I are both filmmakers and theres usually an interesting project or two going down at our place. As a surfer I am fun loving and not picky, I prefer a new friend or a good story to a fluffy pillow.
CURRENT MISSION To meet new, interesting people and see the world through their eyes; to travel the world filling it with ukulele music; and to find humor and unexpected adventures in amazing places. Well, I am a vegetarian. I like to write and take pictures and read good books, and I don't do any of those things nearly enough. I love to cook (vegetarian food, of course). Learning recipes from my CSers when we have time is one of my favorite things. Traveling and sharing experiences is what I'm all about, and in my free time when I'm not traveling I'm usually biking, teaching ESL, or trying to learn something new. "It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes." ~Douglas Adams
CURRENT MISSION life is short -why not enrich it with new world friends ABOUT ME Born in the midwest, raised in the south in a home where we always had international visitors. I've been fortunate to have traveled through 31 different countries. Just relocated from country living off the land in southwestern Wisconsin back to the suburbs of Little Rock, Arkansas. PHILOSOPHY We should live lightly off the earth and do whatever possible to make the world a better place to live and leave this world better than we found it.
