I'm very easy to get along with, and I had hosted 150+ guests without any problems. However, recently I have had some negative experiences, causing me to implement the following rules: 1) Cleanliness. I understand you've been hiking/traveling and you may be dirty. No problem; I have a shower and laundry facilities. They're free to use and I ask you to use them. Recently I had couchsurfers who were dirty and smelled really bad. Though I suggested they shower, they didn't bother to and left the clean bedding visibly dirty. 2) Communication. Cell service is cheap here in the US. WiFi is everywhere. Yes, there are national parks and areas without cell service. But not showing on the expected date and then showing up unannounced on a later date saying, "I'm sorry; we didn't have cell service"? That's rude and unacceptable. Hosts arrange their schedules around their guests' plans. Please don't expect me to host you if you can't clearly communicate about your plans. 3) Security. Recently I hosted a couple who failed to lock the doors upon their departure, despite clear instructions to do so. Another time, I came home to find my door not just unlocked but left OPEN. It should go without saying, but if something like that happens, I will leave a negative reference and refer the matter to the Couchsurfing Safety and Security Team. If you would like me to respond, please indicate in your request that you have read and will abide by my rules. VACCINATED: Completed Pfizer Covid series (both shots) on 29 Jan. 2021. CURRENT MISSION To find my long-lost identical twin (or any of his friends) ABOUT ME Born and raised in Idaho, with incredible mountains not far in any direction. Love the peace found in nature; love good times with good friends and enjoy meeting and talking to new friends, especially in the backcountry. See my website for photos of past trips. PHILOSOPHY Six favorite quotes: "Many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices." - William James "Man cannot achieve—while he is comfortable—the extraordinary things of which he is capable." "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." - Eleanor Roosevelt "If you are not training to fight you are preparing to surrender." "I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy." -Rabindranath Tagore "Forgiveness is the gift we give ourselves when we stop carrying the burden of someone else's past."
CURRENT MISSION We are fully vaccinated and will only consider hosting fully vaccinated guests! We really appreciate guests that say 2 or 3 days, then we have time to get to know them. People who show up late and leave the next morning don't contribute to what we think of as the "couchsurfing experience" My wife, Rosine, and I just want to meet a variety of interesting people. I love learning something new every day. Since some of you are new to Couchsurfing may I make some recommendations. Couchsurfing is based on trust, someone is letting a complete stranger stay in their home. First get " Verified," or have a lot of recommendations. Then a host at least know you are who you say you are. I know this is hard when you are just starting. Go to some local Couchsurfing events and meet people for references. Host some folks and they will give you references. Also add more pictures, I saw where one host wanted to see 25 photos. And last but not least, complete and beef up your profile so people get a good idea of who you are. All these thing encourage a host to invite stranger into their home. ABOUT ME Rosine and I have been married since 2007. We have a black golden retriever mix named Navi. I have 2 kids, a 27 year old son and a 30 year old married daughter. I now have 3 granddaughters. I've been a cook, a waiter, a bartender, a florist, and worked in hotels. I've been a pilot,a smuggler, a skydiver and a hippie. I worked for an airline for 25 years as an inspector, a mechanic, and a director of maintenance. I was an RN in surgery who circulated and scrubbed urology, gyn, plastics, transplant, ortho, PV and general surgery for 17 years.. I retired completely in July, 2021. Who knows what's next? PHILOSOPHY Try to learn something new every day!
I am accepting guests currently 😊 Searching for what my life's path will be since I am unable to have the future I had planned with my late husband. I'm embarking on multiple trips to see if anything makes my heart sing again. Widowed July 2023 🖤
My family's from northern New Mexico, and of mixed Indigenous background. We’ve lived abroad and in a few US states because my dad was Air Force. Though I’ve been in Salt Lake City since the early 2000s. I’m nonbinary/trans masc, and active in LGBTQIA+ and QTIBIPoC communities locally. I run a (very) small gender and size inclusive clothing brand, and am part of a queer sewing education collective. I joke a lot and especially get along with others who have a good sense of humor. I manage to be laid back and a little uptight at the same time. Living in SLC for 20+ years I have lots of recommendations for things to do and see, especially nature wise.

CURRENT MISSION To learn a better way of life, meet great people, and maybe even find myself. ABOUT ME As an outdoor enthusiast I hike alot like to keep fit. I'm intersted in exploring different religions, cultures, and philosophy. PHILOSOPHY life is ever expanding
Quiet ,sarcastic & considerate introvert. I’m always down for pickleball, hiking, or trying a new restaurant. Generally, I prefer to be out in nature as much as possible to recharge. I’m taking a break from software development after roughly 20 years. Essentially, taking a mini-retirement to re-evaluate things a bit. Looking to travel a bit more with the goal of meeting interesting folks. I’m married and have one cat.
Hey there, my name is Samuel, but my friends call me Sam. You can call me Sam :) I have a medical service k9 named Maeve. We are together 100% of the time no matter what (hospital, grocery store, restaurant, any outdoor sporting etc.) I’m currently between jobs and trying to get back to Pittsburgh Pa, my hometown where I will likely work as a construction supervisor or join another trade due to its pragmatism. I currently do not drink alcohol or do any substances, but I’m totally accepting of other’s choices. I value communication, positivity, openness and stability. I love to express myself, and I dance around many subjects like a neurodivergent ADHD’er does. Lets be friends? I have so much more to say and talk about. Thank you for reading.
I'm a video editor/producer and love sharing, telling and hearing great stories! CURRENT MISSION To live a life free of hypocrisy, to treat people around me with love and care, and to wonder at the mysteries of life. ABOUT ME I was born in 84 and laugh easy. A few winters ago, I biked through India by myself. I love to share conversations and meals with locals while traveling, getting a sense of the place and connection with the land. I avoid most tourist traps and prefer a quiet coffee shop, getting lost on a run, and exploring daily routines with hosts! For work, I started a small business (www.standupmn.org), design websites, and am taking the winter off to write a book, explore, learn and read! Now I'm running a videography business at www.ourgrandstory.com where I help people share their most meaningful memories. I enjoy learning about new cultures and understanding different perspectives of difficult issues. I love philosophy, spiritual writers, discussing what matters most to you, and hearing other's story. A close friend once said "everyone has a story, sometimes a story is all we have". PHILOSOPHY life is short. lead by example. be the change! I strive to avoid hypocrisy and lead as an example of my belief. I also believe that we each can learn something from everyone we meet.

Hi! I’m from India, where I’m part of my family’s construction & real estate business. I also have an MBA in Marketing from IIM, so I love anything creative — from brainstorming ideas to taking nice photos and videos. Outside of work, I enjoy Netflix nights, solving cubes, Painting, and exploring the Stock Market. I’m also adventurous — I’ve tried scuba diving, paragliding & flyboarding! And if you’re curious, I’d be happy to cook you some vegetarian Indian dishes. Yoga is another part of my lifestyle that helps me stay grounded wherever I go. I’m very comfortable around pets. In fact, I have a dog back home. Curious, easygoing, and always up for a good story or laugh. Also. I am here to explore new places and make good friends not for dating or anything else
