I used to be active on Couchsurfing, but largely forgot about it due to family and work pressures. Recently an old friend whom I hadn't seen in nearly 20 years stayed at my place. We met at a Couchsurfing catch-up in Mali and travelled together in West Africa and later the North East of India. Seeing him again prompted me to reactivate my profile as a way to meet people with great stories, adventures, and who look at the world with a smile. I like mountains, plants, forests, gardens, tech, history, sci-fi, business, travel, people, and most of all I love my kids. 30+ years of travel, used to be wilder, these days it's a mix: workcations, family trips, and solo travel just to see a place.
CURRENT MISSION enjoy life. meet new people. ABOUT ME l am a gentleman. aged 63. own car. and can pick you up from melbourne airport. . oxford, cambridge, harvard and sorbonne family background. honest reliable trustworthy. public spirited. get along with most people. safe(non-sleazy) enviroment. have a mild mental disability that dosn't stop me from enjoying life. crack alot of jokes. !!! PHILOSOPHY treating people the right way. a man of honor.
I was born in Melbourne and have lived here for most of my life, except for a couple of stints in England and South America. Being fortunate enough to travel regularly in my adult life, apart from opening my eyes to the world, this has also given me a richer appreciation of my own city. If I can't host you I'd still love to meet you and show you around. I see nation borders as arbitrary lines on a colonial map; I am a human first and any other classification comes secondary. I intend to travel more and more in the future, meet my fellow humans and see what are doing. I also love history and I tend to prioritise locations which have ancient human-constructed buildings.
Hey, I'm Louis, an avid traveller and train driver living in Melbourne! I love being part of the couch surfing community as we can exchange our cultures, love for travel and share our cities hidden secrets. I aim to live the local way of life and discover hidden gems that are otherwise left untouched. When I'm home I am passionate to host people and show Melbourne's hidden secrets, great food and coffee spots as well as sharing tips and useful information that will help you have an amazing time in Australia! When Im travelling, I am respectful of others and love to help out where I can and meet people from around the world. I do shift work so sometimes I will go to bed early or or come home late but that also creates flexibility to do stuff during the day! Insta: @louisjosborne

My partner Cheng and I are living in Australia 🇦🇺 , we are originally from the warm and humid southern part of China (Guangzhou & LiuZhou) 🇨🇳 We’re running our own AI Marketing Business. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new things in the city, hiking with friends, playing with cats, staying updated on current affairs and technology news, planning future travel adventures, gaming, and using some new decoration ideas to keeping home tidy, cozy & fun. 👩❤️👨 When my partner and I have long breaks, we love to travel and explore new regions.
I am not very good when it comes to writing about myself. I believe it is better to meet and see.
CURRENT MISSION i enjoy conversing with people from other countries to learn more about their culture and happy to help out with a bed ABOUT ME very easygoing guy that gets on with all ages and walks of life PHILOSOPHY my favourite saying is "life would be boring if we were all the same" I treat people with the same respect that I would like to be treated
If you want to stay with us PLEASE read carefully my profile before writing me, I am not very active right now but I try to meet with the local communities and help when I can. I would love to help you and maybe host you especially if you are a traveling family. I am on a constant mission to optimize myself and my environment to reach my own evolving happiness concept ABOUT ME All?....No way, but here are some tiny impressions: I am a Spanish-Argentinian guy, born artist and became ascientist.... that means that I would love to be musician or painter or any other artistic-creative profession, but science is even a stronger passion. These are only 2 aspects of me. Apart from that: Music is tremendously basic in my life (now, before, and ever) and is always with me. I love martial arts (some, not all) and what they represent, also as a part of understanding Asian cultures, in which I am fascinated. I also enjoy cooking and drinking a good wine or beer or whatever it is. Time is short to discover the constellation of people and cultures that are out there, but another important thing you learn by traveling and living out of your country is that you can discover amazing things just very near to you, only that you just were not prepared to see them. Plus keeping on discovering your inside, which is so basic to developing yourself and being able to learn more and more about life. Oh, and I am kind of Pastafarian....for those who know what that means :-) PHILOSOPHY I love these sentences: "Yesterday is history Tomorrow is mystery Today is a gift" "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances. If there is any reaction, both are transformed" - Carl Jung "Birds born in a cage think that flying is an illness" - Alejandro Jodorowsky "Traveler there is no road, you make the path as you walk" - Antonio Machado "Only two things are endless: The Universe and the human stupidity..... and I am not so sure about the first one" - Albert Einstein "If you have a problem and there is a solution...... why do you worry? And if you have a problem and there is no solution...... why do you worry? - Popular Zen Citation "The best things in life are not things" All of them synthesize quite well a lot of my personal philosophy.
I grew up in Newcastle NSW, lived the last few years in Adelaide SA and now have very recently moved to Melbourne VIC! I’m a chemical engineer and I work in sustainability as a circular economy consultant where the focus is on waste reduction, recycling and reuse ♻️ I love the outdoors and have spent many weekends away camping, hiking and at the beach. I also both love sport and spend most of my time playing AFL (Australian Rules Football).
Hey there! I’m just an ordinary person chasing extraordinary experiences. My current mission is living life to the fullest — one adventure at a time! Travel is my biggest passion — I’ve explored 180 countries and territories and all 7 continents. I love immersing myself in different cultures, meeting new people, and collecting unforgettable stories along the way. I also wrote a travel book and founded a travel club. One of the things I value most is deep, meaningful connections. I love listening to people's stories and being someone who supports and uplifts others. I’d love to connect with like-minded adventurers, swap travel stories, and share experiences. Let’s make life an unforgettable journey! 🚀🌎
You can call me Jerry ✌🏼😃 I like to flow with life, loving and living life to the fullest, when I’m not having a deep conversation I’m dancing, laughing or playing board games, trying always to be present. Sharing is key to evolve, understanding is key to connect, I enjoy to listen and share stories of this crazy beautiful life. Balance is necessary that’s why you will find me in techno festivals some times or dancing bachata and salsa. I studied cinematography and I do photography and videography during most of my trips as well for living, I have visited many places which means I have done so many stupid things in my life that I’m sure you will laugh about it , I’m very happy to share everything I know and I have. My superpower is being very adaptable person, I can be super chill and watch movies but also I can be the one dancing bachata , I love sports , board games ping pong , climbing , etc… so I’m always up for doing something fun or spontaneous .
I absolutely love Latin America so I've returned for my second time. I quit my job and hopefully have 6 months to explore all the areas that I never saw on my first journey. I've been learning a little spanish over the past few years. Mainly returning to Mexico to discover more there but this time I've started in Chile and Argentina and I'm travelling north to discover beautiful hidden gems throughout South America.
