I'm somebody spontaneous, positive, i love to take what is good of life. I studied mathematics and physics for a long time, but now i think we have more to learn in people than any sciences. I studied biology and love nature and wildlife. I'm currently working at the educational services of the natural sciences museum in Brussels (https://www.naturalsciences.be/en). I also work as a volunteer at the Planckendael Zoo of Mechelen and as a climate coach for Goodplanet. I like sports, both watching and doing them. I'm active in a chess club (not really physical sports, but still sports) where I train young children. I also like music, travelling and meeting new cultures. I'm a cultural mix myself as I have a Belgian father and a Chinese-Malaysian mother. I love cooking and eating and love sharing this with guests, but be aware that I'm vegetarian. ABOUT ME I'm a 49-year-old freelance translator (you can visit my freelancer profile here: https://www.proz.com/translator/3345205) born and raised in the Flemish city of Ghent, Belgium. Apart from languages (and their history), I am fond of traditional (folk) music and folk dancing, and I used to dance balfolk, tango and milonga. I started Wwoofing and volunteering with intentional communities, such as the Twelve Tribes, the Bruderhof and the Mennonites in September 2015. In the summer of 2016, I gave up my studio flat and started travelling as a Wwoofer and Workawayer. Since 2018, I take care of people's pets and homes (house sitting/pet sitting) while working as a freelance translator. Countries/regions I would really like to visit, include Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, Iceland, Scandinavia, the US, Canada, Australia, Madagascar and Latin America.

I'm a lawyer working in Brussels. From time to time I get convinced again that travelling is the best way to spend your money and time (at least if you spend it for yourself). I am always enthusiastic about visiting new places, getting to know people with different routes and culture from all around the world. Honestly I'm not really good in describing myself, but I'm trying to give some clumsy 'footnotes'... Generally I don't speak too much, but I like sharing thoughts and experiences with almost anybody who is up for chatting or having a deeper conversation.. (preferably over a pint of beer or glass of wine:) I think I don't have a strong personality, I'm rather an adaptable type, although I can be determined and committed in some "projects" I have been planning. Btw, I'm always planning (but just planning) to make a plan, (so usually fail in my schedule :-) but anyway, I think the best things in life are spontatneous and sometimes even surprising I rarely show my feelings, but I respect those who share them with me. I hate spending my time senselessly, but I think no time is lost in a good company. I really appreciate the people who are willing to get acquainted and sharing time with me. I like joking, the good humour and being positive. Others find me friendly and helpful (so I hope it's true :-)
