Where do I begin? I'm an avid cook (and therefore a foodie), outdoor enthusiast, political activist, music and animal lover. Travel has been a passion of mine all of my adult life and I'm happy to be getting back to it after a break during the pandemic. Couchsurfing has been and continues to be an integral part of my journey. I finally got my TESOL and currently I'm trying to embrace the digital nomad lifestyle with my writing and photography. PHILOSOPHY Travel can truly be a force for good and is the key to solving many of the problems the world is now facing in my opinion. Breaking down those barriers and realizing how similar we all are is paramount. Once we all start working together, we can accomplish incredible things. Travel connects us, and reminds us that we aren't that different after all.
CURRENT MISSION Meet/conocer experienced travelers as I cannot currently travel far from home with pets. ABOUT ME Chris' hometown is Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Pull up a bar stool for a social drink and share a Cider beer, or homemade Sangria. Any aid to find an epic Café con Leche also welcome. ☕ PHILOSOPHY Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. From the character Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) in the film Full Metal Jacket: "There is no racial bigotry here. Here you are all equally worthless, and my orders are to weed out all non-hackers who do not pack the gear to sleep on my beloved couch. Do you maggots understand that?" 😁
Even though I work in corporate America, I am naturally a free spirited and creative soul. I enjoy finding new ways to enjoy life and seeing our world from unique perspectives. I have lived in the western and southeastern US, and have traveled to Europe a few times, including living in Spain for a year. It's exciting to encounter new people with a whole different set of life experiences that energize that desire to learn and experience more. I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
Torre | 18 | St. Augustine, FL Currently on a 10,000-mile solo road trip across the US- heading your way. Hey! I'm Torre, a recent high school grad taking the summer to drive the full country before starting at the University of Central Florida in the fall. I'm in the middle of a coast-to-coast loop... West Coast, Pacific Northwest, Rockies, back East... and I'm looking for real experiences with real people along the way, not just another hotel room. I'm social to my core. I grew up playing sports, I'm used to being around people constantly, and I genuinely love hearing about how people ended up where they are and what they're building. If you want to talk, I'm never the person who disappears into their phone. I keep a clean space, I'm respectful of your home and your schedule, and I'll always be upfront about my arrival time. I'm traveling light and I don't need much... just a safe place to land and good company. In exchange, I'm happy to cook, help with anything around the place, or just bring the energy if you need it. I document the trip on Instagram (@torredrives) so there's a full picture of who I am and where I've been if you want to get a feel before hosting. If our timing lines up, I'd love to connect. Thanks for even reading this far.

ABOUT ME Living in St Augustine FL at the moment after a couple of years being nomadic but originally from NYC. PHILOSOPHY I enjoy seeing the world and being active. I try not to take anything too seriously, put my sense of humor first and try to live as closely to being stress free as possible.
I enjoy the beach and riding my bike. I live the easy life as we all should. I gave up TV, but love watching YouTube and backpackers like the Budgeteers!
I'm an outdoor enthusiast and nature nerd. I am on Couchsurfing to expand my community and get to meet people from the local culture. I love connecting with people who share that same curiosity for the natural world. With two degrees in environmental science, I feel most alive when freediving, rock climbing, backpack hiking, acro yoga, birding, or SCUBA diving. When I'm not pushing my body to its physical limits, you'll find me capturing the world through my camera lens or bringing it to life with watercolor paints. I may be able to host on Couchsurfing in August, but I am traveling before and after that. IG: @AbroadOutdoors
Life has taken me on some unexpected adventures over the last few years. Over the last couple of years, I have been balancing graduate school, recovering from burnout, and doing the deeper work of healing. It hasn't always been easy, but it's taught me how to slow down, reconnect with myself, and appreciate the journey. Nature has been my sanctuary, and experiences with plant medicine opened doors that were very scary, but was a healing experience in 2022 that has continud my journey up until now. My travels have taken me from spending 2½ months exploring Peru on my second solo international trip, to hiking across Ireland in an SUV, wandering the streets of Paris, and spending four months exploring the U.S. in my Jeep. I camped under the stars, hiked over 300 miles, and visited countless National and State Parks. Those experiences taught me that some of life's greatest lessons happen far from home. I'm currently in Thailand, continuing my journey of healing and personal growth, and next up is Vietnam. I never know exactly where life will take me, but that's part of what I love about traveling. As odd as it may seem, the burnout has left me completely drained and more reserved, aging is another downer. I am working hard on myself to overcome these obstacles. I will always find happiness and calm outdoors, whether that's hiking, walking on the beach, and kayaking. I value authenticity, curiosity, kindness, and conversations that go beyond surface level.
I have lived in Florida since 2010. I was in the Air Force for over 20 years, so have been fortunate to travel and meet many interesting people. I live alone, though I do have two indoor cats. I enjoy a fairly quiet life. I'm willing to host guests who are quiet, independent, and don't mind exploring on their own.
I grew up in Florida and traveled my home state extensively; mostly camping along the way. Road trips are a favorite of mine here in the US, and I've seen 30+ states so far. Also love to travel abroad. Lucky enough to have experienced a dozen or so European countries as well as an equal amount of asian ones plus a few other odd destinations. I've been home brewing beer for 14 years and like to seek out breweries and beer styles in my travels. I usually travel with a harmonica and am always up for a jam session.
