I grew up in the US near Washington DC in the state of Maryland. I taught English in China at a university from 2010-2013. During that time I was able to travel around much of Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines. After that I went back to the states to get my masters in International Education Policy at the University of Maryland which I completed in 2015. I just finished 10 months in Kunming, China on a Fulbright Research Scholarship studying local education policy and practice revolving around English language teaching in the secondary public school system.
