A year ago a friend and I grabbed a night bus from Tirana to Gjirokastra, Albania. We arrived at 3 in the morning and weaved our way through the twisting streets up to the castle that hung on the cliff above the town. We camped out at the gate of the castle and took turns keeping guard for the packs of wild dogs inhabiting the early morning streets. Before dawn we hiked into the hills behind the city and watched the sun rise over the stone village. THen in the morning we hitched a ride out into greece. Hands down unforgettable.

I love being in the outdoors. I am an avid bike rider (all types) and snowboarder. Hiking, swiming, camping, etc. I also enjoy playing and listening to music. Professionally, I am obsessed with food production and ethical food systems. So, I find myself reading, writing, and talking about that a fair bit too.
