CURRENT MISSION To keep entertained while I entertain ABOUT ME How would I describe myself? Well, I'm a mother of two boys. So that pretty much consumes me most of the time. However, I've only been a mommy for five years and I feel as though I led a fairly interesting life before then. Not that it isn't interesting now. Don't get me wrong; my interests are just very focused now. Family and work. So in addition to caring for my family, I work as a veterinarian in Stonewall, Manitoba, in a multi-veterinarian practice. We have a hobby farm with chickens, rabbits and cats. So far no large herbivores or canids because we like to travel and finding suitable care for them can be complicated. I like to garden; veggies at least, and some flowers. I am a practical person. I like to scare myself. I love to try new things. PHILOSOPHY Live and let live. Be nice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE None from couchsurfing.org, but plenty of couch surfing around the world when I've travelled on a shoestring budget. Australia 1995/96: Went for 4 months, stayed a year. Learned to be self-sufficient with the help of friends I hadn't met yet. New Zealand 1996: Where I learned to snowboard on Mount Turoa as it was erupting. British Columbia 1996/97: Finding my way to the slopes England 1998: First time I met my future/current husband's family and friends Wales 2001: New Year at Snowdon And then it sort of fizzled out. Then when I travelled it was to visit relatives or we stayed in hotels or vrbo condos.
Musica, film e libri
Movies: Comedies, Action, Romance I have a few all time favorite films including Happy Gilmore, Romancing the Stone, Die Hard, and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Books: Self-sufficiency books, gardening, textbooks (when I read stories I get so obsessed that I lose track of everything else and I find that just isn't appropriate at this stage of my life) Music: very broad interest from classical to rave to pop to grunge to gospel, etc.

Parturition. Twice. That was crazy! (I've also kayaked class 5 rapids, bungee-jumped, sky-dived, ski toured on amazing glaciers, seen incredible aurora borealis, and had my arm shoulder deep in the rear end of cows, horses, llamas and elk)

Currently, I have no free time. However, I like to dream about what I will do when I have free time again. And that includes travel, travel, travel! In the meantime I am busy with work, my family, my animals, and my friends. I like to sing, ski, camp, read, listen to music, lounge, canoe, white water kayak, bike, hike. I am turning 39 on January 1, 2014. Yowsa.
