I was introduced to CS when I was on a summer exchange in France. I usually stayed in hostels but when I was on my way home, the timing of my train and my flight warranted needing a place to rest. A friend of mine found a host that happened to be dropping her roommate off at the airport around the same time, so it worked out. All I was looking for was a place to put my bags, but what I got was so much more. You don't get that kind of hospitality with hotels, and there's no better way to explore a city than from its locals.
