Gaining perspective through travel and the service of others is a guiding principle in my life. I believe that being able to truly empathize and understand one another is the single thread holding together many disparate cultures across the world, but it requires intentional practice and purposeful study. In many things I do, I seek to gain this empathy by going deeper into local cultures, "stepping in others' shoes", listening, and asking questions that matter. I've found that working/staying/volunteering with locals is one of the best ways to do this! I hope to stay with hosts along the way, but I'm also hoping to meet fellow Couchsurfers on the road. I've lived in the Swiss Alps, spent a winter under the shadow of Mt. Everest, sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, and am now leaving for the next adventure!
