Hi couchsurfers! I am Gabriele, I am 28 yo and I grew up in Lucca, a small town in Tuscany. In the last years I’ve studied in Turin, Paris, Milan, and worked in Rome and Karlsruhe (Germany). I’ve then starter a PhD in Energy Technology and Policy and soon will start my visiting period at Utrecht University (can’t wait!). I can be very talkative on a looot of topics: from food, movies/tv shows and music to philosophy, politics and big life questions. On politics, tech and sustainability I can be a little nerd, but if you are not interested I can promise you I will not get into it ;) I also appreciate all kinds of art, especially architecture, that’s why I love flaneuring around the cities while listening to curiosities and anecdotes.

Perché sono su Couchsurfing
During this summer break, I'll take some time to make one of my biggest dreams come true: an Interrail trip to go as far north as possible, with the aim of reaching Nordkapp by train, bike and bus. On this trip, I'd like to meet locals or people who have lived for many years in the cities I'll be passing through, in order to discover the less touristy sides of Europe. For half of the trip I’ll travel alone, so I'd really like to create bonds with the hosts, spend a day or two together, and make this trip unforgettable. And in the next months, you are for sure more than welcome in Italy!
Musica, film e libri
I don’t have a wide musical culture, but I am really open to all genres. In the last year I've listened to many emerging Italian artists. I love musicals, historical movies, and also Disney-Pixar classics such as Ratatouille and Wall-e. I like English and Italian literature novels. At the moment I am reading (or better, trying to read) Cicero's De Amicitia, a very classic latin essay on friendship.
Una cosa straordinaria che ho fatto
I walked for more than 100 km in the Via Francigena, among tuscanian hills and small villages, hosted by locals and by nuns :D In the next years I would like to arrive in Rome.
Insegna, Impara, Condividi
I am pretty good at cooking, especially Italian food (pasta carbonara, aglio olio e peperoncino, bruschette :P) and I can also share some digital tricks to choose the right bottle of wine for any occasion. I would really like to improve my French!
Cosa posso offrire agli host
Just spend some good times telling each other stories, eating local food, cooking, drinking, singing and flaneuring around the cities. If you come to Italy, in my city, I'll be super happy to be your guide and we could visit the historical centre and all the surroundings (sea, mountains and the lake)!
