Hello! My name is Hannah. I'm originally from Vermont, but I've in various parts of the US and world, including Tanzania, Spain, and most recently in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After graduating from college (where I studied Int'l Affairs and Gender Studies), I did an Americorps fellowship helping underserved youth get into college, which I'm very passionate about, and this year I was an English teacher with the Fulbright program in Rio. I look forward to returning to San Francisco after this trip to pursue a career in non-profit work related to youth, education, gender equality, and non-violence. It has always been my dream to backpack around South America, and I couldn't be more thrilled to embark on this latest journey!

Perché sono su Couchsurfing
I think Couchsurfing is a better way to really get to know a place and its culture, through sharing stories, food, and a home with people who know the fabric of their land and enjoy welcoming exuberant travelers into their lives. I prefer to live in different countries for an extended period to truly immerse myself in a culture and make connections locally, rather than being a tourist. However, given limited time and funds, Couchsurfing is the best way to still achieve these goals of making friends and gaining a deeper understanding of my surroundings!
Musica, film e libri
Too many favorites to be confined to this box, but here's a sample... Music: Jose Gonzalez, Alexi Murdoch, Chance the Rapper, Stromae Movie: The Breakfast Club Book: A History of Love (don't judge a book by its title, this isn't a romance!)
Una cosa straordinaria che ho fatto
Survived an immense lightning storm on a tiny boat in the middle of the Amazon and spent the night hammock camping in the practically untouched rainforest wilderness of Jaú National Park! One of the craziest/best experiences of my life.
Insegna, Impara, Condividi
I love learning & speaking different languages! I also love learning about cultures through dance and music, as well as food. I'm an avid outdoor explorer, so I look forward to sharing hikes and many other adventures/activities with people! I'm also always down to kick around a soccer ball, join a volleyball game, learn a new sport, and try new things in general!
Cosa posso offrire agli host
Happy to prepare meals for/with hosts, in addition to sharing stories and lots of laughter! I also plan to be a reciprocal host once I settle back in San Francisco next year, so mi casa es su casa! :)
