I'm Merel, a dutch girl who loves to travel, see the world, meet new people, gain new experiences, exploring the outdoors and going on amazing, wild adventures! Currently I am travelling Chile with my girlfriend, Coco. We are spending over two months in this beautiful country. Our first week in Chile we hiked into the Andes. We hiked a breathtaking, deserted trail for six days, being one with nature without encountering any sign of human life. During this hike we realised that even though we love the beautiful Andes and being in the wilderness, we also want to submerge ourselves in the Chilean culture(s) and meet locals. We are excited to share our time here in Chile with others and to have fun with everyone we meet! We love outdoor activities, being in nature, hiking, discovering cities and towns, tasting different food, having a drink, making music and sharing stories! When not travelling we live in Amsterdam, in our self-renovated house-boat. I studied Cultural Anthropology and worked as a barista & waitress in the city. Coco worked as an IT consultant. We both took a break from our daily-lives back home to step out of our comfort zones and experience the world in a different way. At the moment, we do not have an end-date of our travels, but we do know that we would like to return to our home in Amsterdam. When we are back, we are excited to open our home to other travellers and to anyone we met on our journey, to return the kindness people have blown us away with!
