I started couchsurfing during my European Voluntary Service in France. On my travels I met many friendly people and enjoyed the interesting stories everyone could tell. My hosts gave me a feeling like I was just visiting a friend so even when I was travelling alone I did not feel alone. For me this feeling of "Being welcome" has become a part of the couchsurfing idea.

For exchange, it would be great to learn how to make some food from your country or region. It was a very funny moment when an Italian told me how Carbonara is really made - it has nothing in common with the Carbonara I had been eating before. I would like to learn another instrument, something you can sing with, like the ukulele or the guitar. Still a dream at the moment...
