I am travelling to Malaysia in mid-July this year (2017) and I figured that the best way to dovetail into the culture of a region is to stay with the indigenous people and learn from them. And perhaps, they'd learn a thing or two about the culture of where I come from.

Music: Usually, you'd find me listening to quite a lot of indie music: Belle and Sebastian, The National, Bright Eyes, Laura Marling... But I'm quite the sucker for good jazz music. Movies: Ah, I absolutely love David Lynch and Martin Scorsese movies. My favourite movie is Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation. Books: John Steinbeck's East of Eden and Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being are my favourite books. I adore Salinger, Mishima and Cormac McCarthy too.
