I illustrated a children's book a few years ago. The author wrote the book as a dedication to her adopted daughter who she found as a baby, abandoned under a bridge during a harsh storm in northern China. There are more stories to tell, but one that comes to mind is the time I lived with a Bedouin family in the West Bank who kindly sheltered me from a very terrible sandstorm.

I try to learn from everyone I interact with, in whatever shape that might take. Humility seems to be the common thread that every personal learning experience requires.
