I've once randomly stayed in a local's house on the way to Lake Toba. I had no idea where exactly I was and she invited me to stay with her family. I stayed with them for 4 days and learned so much about the local customs of their tribe. I taught her how to improve her English and share with her my travel stories. We became good friends since then! It was the most wonderful experience i have had while travelling. Also, I've heard beautiful stories of how a host can bond with their surfers. I'm excited to experience what a couchsurfer can experience!
