I'm a simple human being with an open heart, warm energy, and gentle nature, I love the sunshine and taking time for breakfast. I never stop questioning, curiosity is my reason to live, I'm fascinated by human beings and their lives, I enjoy connecting with inspiring individuals and learning about other cultures, I adore candles, flowers, palm trees and authentic souls who live from the heart. I'm keen on organic markets, secondhand shops, and handicraft, I really enjoy reading interesting books, sleeping outside in the nature, hiking in the mountains, snorkeling, eating fruit and on the hot days, I like to go to the beach. I’m inspired by wandering, exploring and spending time watching people’s expressions, observing their interactions. I like to listen with my eyes and speaking with my hands. I enjoy lucid dreaming, cooking for everybody, and collecting little moments that make life feel magical. Well now, let’s make some delicious food, sit on the floor, and eat with our hands. At the end of the day, we all snore in the same language.

Back home after being on the road from October 25 travelling all around the world. A dream became true. Please consider that: ▪︎ I do not see CS as a killing time tool. ▪︎ I will write you only if I consider we can enjoy each other presence so I do expect the same. ▪︎ There are plenty of cheap hostels in the island full of tourists willing to chat so please do not write me in order to save money. IA @davidcastanhe CURRENT MISSION Develop myself and the people around me ABOUT ME In a few lines?! and I may include anything at all? Mmm... well I have been loads of years studying agricultural engineering first, and then forestry. I moved to Marseille in order to learn french and enjoy the Mediterranean sea but destiny did not a agree and luckily sent me to Canary Islands some years ago... I worked some years as a teacher in a special program for maladjusted guys. Used to make noise with a guitar and more people but not anymore. I'm easy going (not really) and I like listening LP's Blah blah blah. PHILOSOPHY That is a long thing to explain (I would need a garden and a glass of wine to go deep into the issue). Anyway I could say I follow these guidelines: I. C'est en faissant n'importe quoi qu'on devient n'importe qui II. Joker always wins ♧ (Nothing to do with the film) III. Unos me llaman chaval, otros me dicen caballero IV. We who are not as others V. This world is crazy (and too serious sometimes) VI. May all the beings be happy VII. A favor de lo bueno, en contra de lo malo

I usually prefer not to confirm any request until only a few days before as our schedules vary a lot from one week to anothee ABOUT ME I enjoy life... it's short... and am sometimes happy to be alone Love is the energy that moves the world, that moves us all. It's the only actual energy. I try to be positive and smile... and enjoy every bit of life, looking at bad things as an experience to build upon...

I’m Freddy — Venezuelan journalist, writer and marketing consultant, currently living in Tenerife, Canary Islands. I ended up here after discovering that starting over can sometimes become the most interesting chapter of the story. I travel because I’m curious about people, not because I’m trying to collect countries. I’m much more interested in the conversation that happens after the sightseeing, the unexpected invitation, the tiny restaurant somebody local insists you have to try, or the plan that changes completely and becomes better because of it. That’s probably why Couchsurfing has been part of my life for so long. I’m a Couchsurfing Ambassador and I organize meetups and events in the Canary Islands, including CanaryCrash. I genuinely enjoy bringing people together and watching a group of strangers slowly become the people who don’t want the night to end. I’m also a storyteller by nature and profession. I write about travel, relationships, people and those absurd little situations that seem irrelevant while they’re happening but somehow become the stories we keep telling years later. Journalism didn’t cure my curiosity either: I ask questions, pay attention and usually find the story behind a person more interesting than their résumé. Outside work, give me the sea, a hike, a road trip, live music, a good restaurant, a concert, a long breakfast, a glass of wine or a conversation that makes everyone forget to check the time. I’m social and spontaneous, but I also appreciate independence. I don’t expect people to entertain me, and I don’t want to entertain anyone out of obligation. The best connections happen naturally: sometimes through an adventure with twenty people, sometimes over coffee with just one. I get along especially well with people who are independent, curious, open-minded and capable of laughing at themselves. I like people who have their own world — passions, ideas, projects, strange stories, contradictions — and who still remain curious about somebody else’s. If we meet in Tenerife, there’s a good chance I’ll try to show you somewhere you hadn’t planned to visit. A viewpoint, a village, a beach, a local place for food, a hike, an event… or perhaps we’ll make an entirely different plan five minutes after meeting. I don’t need us to like all the same things. Actually, it’s much more interesting if you can introduce me to something I don’t know yet. Bring curiosity, a good story and a little willingness to improvise. We’ll figure out the rest when we meet.
