Hosts in Montreal
[Relocated to Montréal as of 1-Feb-2025] From Peru and Canada. I’m very well traveled and culturally sensitive, and I am definitely a people person who enjoys meeting travellers. Environmentally minded, I’m curious, unconventional in many ways, minimalist, and very open minded 🏳️🌈. I love spending my free time outdoors doing something active like🕺🚲🏊♂️ 🎉. I work from home and usually not free before 5 pm on weekdays. When not working, I want to spend time with my guest surfers so if you’re only looking to have private time to be on your own please know you will leave me disappointed and thinking you just want a free place to stay at. So if you contact me feel free to suggest how you want to spend your time with me and I’ll be happy to accommodate. I’m fully vaxxed and car free. Sorry, cooking is not a priority so my meals are not impressive, just healthy.
📣Profile Updated: Jan 26, 2026 Hello I'm Ganesha and I currently live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I’m originally from Singapore, but took the giant leap of faith at the age of 20 and moved to Canada. (No regrets 😉) I’m an Airline Pilot, and also run my own travel business, The Untold Direction. I was previously a flight instructor (my students tried to kill me everyday for two years😆), and a French teacher to Singaporean students. I love traveling far and wide, and discover new cultures and meet new people. The Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa interest me the most, and I plan to visit these places (more) in the future. In 2018 & 2019, I completed one of my life's greatest projects: Travelling from home in Singapore to school in Montreal, Canada without taking a single flight. During this 9-month journey, I hitchhiked, took buses and trains, and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on a cargo ship, amongst many other things, to make this multi-continent trip. It was certainly an enriching and life-changing odyssey. (You can see two maps of the route I took in my photos) I’ve written a book about this trip and it’s currently on amazon. Also, the media has extensively covered this trip. I also love the outdoors, especially hiking, multi-day treks, camping, skiing, exploring new places, or simply just chilling with friends around a bonfire. When I’m free, I love to go hiking / camping with my Couchsurfers. I really love wild camping, setting up my camping in the middle of nowhere and enjoying the nature, silence and tranquility around me. I also do lots of cycling, especially long distance ones. I would really like to connect with other cyclists too! I was also an avid hitchhiker, until COVID struck and never really got the chance to do it again. I miss it a lot though, as I felt most alive on the road (or rather roadside), waiting for a kind stranger to stop for me. Life has been good to me. I’m originally from Singapore, where I grew up. Then moved to Montreal, Canada in 2019. Ever since then, I’ve lived in many places across the Canadian east coast: Moncton, NB; Debert & Halifax, NS; Gander, NL. In 2026, I moved back to Montreal for my new airline job. Bonjour!
WARNING: Yes, because some people just have to ruin the fun. Before you decide to stay with me go to the pictures and read the rules, if you can’t comply then you shouldn’t stay here. I’m very direct, this can come strong to some, if this could easily offend you, don’t stay here. Thank you and do continue to the description. I’m Esteban, born and trained in Mexico, I've been travelling for as long as I can rememeber. I love meeting people from other cultures and learning about the world. Now, how could I do this from the comfort of my apartment in Montreal? Couchsurfing of course! My lil' home is like a hostel, I have people over almost every month, from my international family to my actual family and we will love to host you too! I do enjoy when people bring some of their local drinks too but you’ll see I don’t really drink that much :) I’m a cook by studies but I work as a private security agent (if you’re feeling brave you could try some of my Traditional Mexican dinner, provided you help me get the ingredients of course, as spicy as it gets!) Let’s go dancing, have a coffee or just chill and enjoy the city (also got an Xbox 360 if you so wish) in Chez Crazy Mexican everyone is always welcome!
*HOW TO WRITE A GOOD COUCHSURFING REQUEST* Write about why we should meet! What types of conversations or activities can emerge from our paths crossing? I'm not a free couch. I'm a human sharing my intimate space, my home. Read my profile, and then look for evidence that we would be a good match. Any request that would look like a Airbnb reservation will be rejected. Qualities I enjoy in a person: 🧠 Has projects 🎤 Likes hosting events 🐌 Doesn't feel fomo 🦋 Is on a journey ⛲ Participates in the world 🤸🏻♂️ Is physically active 🔗 Is curious about people 🏃🏿 Is proactive in getting the life they want Here are some articles related to who I am: ⚜️📱 https://www.tiktok.com/@radpointca/video/7249859932902673669 ⚜️📰 https://urbania.ca/article/quand-evincer-les-voisins-du-cabaret-la-tulipe-etait-le-contrat-du-siecle ⚜️📰https://www.ledevoir.com/societe/791635/langue-maternelle-habiter-au-vietnam-pour-se-decoloniser ⚜️📰https://www.ledevoir.com/opinion/idees/807182/idees-regarder-ru-tant-quebecois-origine-vietnamienne
