I lived in the US for a year, in Russia for 8 years and in Germany also for a year. know exactly what it feels to be in a different place with different people. Canadian living in Puerto López, Ecuador. I'm from Canada -- I usually say the embarassing part when asked and unfortunately anyone familiar guesses Alberta correctly right away. It is a beautiful province full of wonderful people but the political landscape is far from my leanings. I taught in a Canadian university for around 8 years as a writing and learning specialist before moving to Ecuador to teach English in 2017 -- the pandemic forced me back to Canada for a few years and I came back to Ecuador to open a hostel in 2022. I'm currently working remotely and live with my puppy that I rescued a few months ago.
