Aloha! Welcome to the real Sweden! I'm james, a family guy who has moved up north, where we have a house in the true beauty of Sweden. You are welcome to stay with us as long as we have the time and room. As you can see, we love hosting people and we do so quite often. I like to travel and to meet people. I have travelled a lot and I have friends in many countries. I'm open minded, politically involved (left liberal), and I have been a vegetarian for almost 30 years. Please read my profile before sending me a request. My husband and I host preferably during weekends so that we can enjoy the company of guests and do things together, but you are welcome to visit us during the week as well. If you think the Couschsurfer host is a free hostel then don’t send me a request. I like to spend time with my guests, that’s why I’m hosting. We have hosted 861 persons (September 2026) since we joined in 2007. April 1st 2008 I was interviewed about Couchsurfing in Aftonbladet (the main newspaper in Sweden): www.aftonbladet.se/resa/article11933798.ab Since I became a member I have stayed with more than 140 CS host around the world. It has been great fun!

NOTE: We're actively hosting in Råstrand and I try to log in every few days to check on messages. Welcome to Råstrand! I'm a 30 year old tired mom. I work as a test driver under the Northern Lights. In my free time I like to do puzzles, take care of my plants and just listen to silence, but my "free" time usually focuses on trying to keep the house in an acceptable condition (booooring in other words). I've gotten myself into planting, so our house is full of plants. I would love to learn one day how to sew and how to make lovely pottery pieces. We live under Northern Lights by Vindelälven river.

CURRENT MISSION Enjoying life... ABOUT ME It's a difficult task to write about one self. First I thought to write that I'm an ordinary guy, very Swedish - maybe a bit reserved at first but warm and friendly once I open up. But then I thought, there's really no such thing as ordinary people. We're all unique and special. So what then is special with me? I'm an idealist and political junkie, heavily addicted to news and current events. I'm engaged in the work for LGBTQ rights and am currently the vice president of RFSL, The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights. I like to discuss things, the subject doesn'€™t matter too much I'€™m flexible. Iâ€'m very curious to my nature, ask a lot of questions, like to learn new things. Some people would maybe describe me as a workaholic, but I do find time to relax and have fun off from work to. When I do, I like to cook, watch movies, sing (karaoke) and poke around in my garden even though I'€™m not great at gardening. PHILOSOPHY One only live once so one better enjoy it.
