***read this carefully it will help you understand my personality and my expectations of the cs***. 🎈I am a friendly person, scientist by training I am a little shy.😊 I am someone sensitive to cleanliness and a certain order, I like friendly and positive people. I am interested in nature and sustainable development. I work as a university teacher in the field of environment and green economies, but with a background in physics I am interested in renewable and clean energy. I don't drink alcohol, but I like good food so I cook when I have time and energy. I currently live alone, but I have children who have grown up and do not live with me. I accept all types of people, men, women or couples, without prejudice but as I respect the guests I like them to follow the same rules as me, and especially to keep the place clean as they found it. I'm not looking to rent my apartment or a room to tourists passing through, but I would like to get to know other cultures from other countries and make friends, and why not meet a new girlfriend. They say that chance does good things, and good people are made to meet good people. Don't be afraid I'm a polite and gentleman 😏🏜. I share my car and my flat with you and a little of my time. 🌍 From a Couch… to a Caravan of Cultures It all started with a simple question: “What if opening your door could open your world?” My name is Maher, from Tunisia 🇹🇳 A husband, a father of three… and someone who once accepted a Couchsurfing request without knowing that it would completely change the way he sees people, borders, and even his own home. At first, it was just about hosting travelers. A guest from Iran sharing stories over dinner. A German traveler helping my kids with their English homework. An Italian friend laughing with us around a barbecue like she had always been part of the family. One by one, strangers became friends. Meals became memories. And my living room became a small United Nations of cultures. That’s when I realized: Couchsurfing was never about offering a couch. It was about creating moments that no hotel, no tour, and no itinerary could ever offer. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Hosting people from all over the world didn’t just bring the world into my home — It pushed me to go out and see it myself. From the deserts of Tunisia to the streets of Tehran, From the chaos of Cairo to the calm of Southeast Asia… Every journey changed something in me. But at some point, hosting and traveling didn’t feel like enough anymore. I didn’t just want to be part of the Couchsurfing community… I wanted to build something for it. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ So in 2025, I organized the very first CouchCrash event in Tunisia 🇹🇳 Seeing travelers from different continents meet, connect, and discover my country together was a turning point. And now? We’re going even further. I am currently organizing: 🚗 CouchCrash Road Trip Tunisia A multi-city road trip that will bring Couchsurfers from around the world to travel together across Tunisia — not just as tourists, but as a moving community. Because sometimes, the best way to understand a country… Is through the people who open their homes to you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏡 About Hosting My home is not a hostel. It’s a family space I share with my wife and our three children. If you stay with us, you’re not just getting a place to sleep — You’re stepping into our daily life. Shared meals 🍲 Local conversations Maybe even a countryside escape if time allows 🌿 Hosting is available depending on work, family life, and travel — But stays are limited to 2–3 nights only (non-negotiable). ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ A Gentle but Important Note Couchsurfing is not a dating app. If you're here for anything other than cultural exchange, kindness, and meaningful human connection — this may not be the right place for you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔐 Secret Code If you’ve read this far, include this sentence in your request: ➡️ “Mi casa es su casa” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Maybe we’ll meet one day over a shared meal, on a Tunisian road trip, or somewhere between stories and cultures. Until then: Live the moment. Take the adventure. Create memories that last longer than the trip itself. — Maher 🇹🇳
Hey ! I'm Khadija, 31 yo from Tunis the capital of Tunisia. I've been on couchsurfing for almost 10 years and still enjoy it everyday ! I had the chance to meet people and travelers from all over the world and i'm really grateful about it ! For me, Couchsurfing is more than just an app, it's a mindset, a spirit, an essence ! I love to share memories with people and create them to stay forever in my mind. I host with my parents, they do not speak english, so if you come to our place, you need to be willing to use a translator to communicate with them and I will also help translating. Usually, I have time in the afternoon to hangout and make you discover Tunis and during the week end we can make a day trip to explore other cities like Bizerte, Zaghouan, Testour, hammamet etc If I can't host you, i'll make sure to guide you and help you with your trip. Ps : I usually reply really quickly to requests but in case I don't, reach out to me on Instagram @khdijamiladi Just a reminder : couchsurfing is not a dating app, i'm here to create genuine and meaningful relationships. I'll report you if you try to use the app otherwise.
I'm the Couchsurfing ambassador of the capital, Tunis. My place is LGBTQ+ friendly. My couch don't make unjustified distinction between human beings based on the ethnicity, religion, colour or sexual orientation.. BUT If you spend 10 seconds to send me a copy paste request, it will take 2 seconds to decline it. I'm earthling ! EARTH IS FOR EVERYONE ! One earth .. One people ! I'm an Environmentalist and a small budget traveller. My soul is a puzzle and I'm collecting its pieces through books, travelling, meeting people from different cultural backgrounds and connecting to mother nature.
