Best 5 nature places to visit in Black Forest area?

Hi :), I take my nephews (15,17) to Swiss for 4-5 days then to Germany aroud Black Forest areas also 4-5 days. Since I haven't visited the area by myself I would like to get your opinion to show/see best let's say must nature places around Black Forest / Rhine river . Any hot suggestions? *Also the plan is the rent a small car, but I see there are trains which is fun also. What you would recommend to rent a car or everything is reachable by train/buses? Thank you!!!

If you stay in Freiburg it is very easy to take a train up to the blackforest. (For example to the lakes Titisee or Schluchsee) The Schauinsland is also very pretty. There's a cable car (schauinsland bahn) you can take up to the mountain and then do some hiking there or visit an old mine. There is also a restaurant at the top. Enjoy the blackforest!

Hey marius, i would definitely rent a car to explore bf theres just the one dead end train tracks to schluchsee and back. I would recommend the Todtnauer Wasserfälle (a waterfall which falls a 100 meters), Schauinsland peak, the huge kathedral in small St. Blasien and when you want to go for a nice little hike with alp mountain view in a really really rural setting like the true bf experience you can go to the town Ibach.
