Hello all! Can anyone give advises on how to purchase the ticket to visit Mount Pilatus?
I'm going to Lucern and I found the trip to Mount Pilatus but I am not quite sure how to get the gondola and cogwheel tickets. It will help me a lot to get advises.

Hey Gabriela
I think you cannot buy them online. You need to go to one of the selling points. That's what they say on their website.

There is a tourist office at the trainstation in Lucerne, they can also help you decide on the options.
Cheers Chris
Yes, Christian is right. They have all their info on their website. There you can see which outlets sell tickets: https://www.pilatus.ch/en/booking/tickets/
Hello
The website confirms what Christian already said: "Please note that tickets cannot be bought online." https://www.pilatus.ch/en/booking/tickets/
My advise is that you do the golden round trip. You take a boat from Luzern to the back of the mountain, go up by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world, spend some time on the top, then go back down to Kriens by cable car and then back to Luzern by bus. The journey can also be done the other way round. Closer to the date, you can check out the times of the steamroller-ships that still circulate on Lake Lucerne. The one to the back of Mount Pilatus even retracts the chimney and the captain's cabin at one point to get under a bridge. This doesn't sound too amazing, until you realise that this ship is like 100 years old...
(Note: I am not in any way affiliated with the Pilatus company - I just happen to have grown up in Kriens).
If you need any further help, let us know or ask at the tourist office, located in the Luzern train station.
Enjoy Switzerland.
Alex
SBB has a railawy option that can be purchased online, at every SBB office and probably also at the ticket machines (might be difficult to find there)
Hey Gabriela
You can buy the ticket right at the station in Kriens (gondola) or Alpnachstad (cogwheel) for around 60.- CHF. The cogwheel is only in service during summer. :)
Best,
Severin
So, it's better not to take chances buy the ticket online then? I saw a couple of websites that sell 1-day, self-guided tickets but I was not sure how reliable they are.
I don't know about those websites but yes, you will always get a ticket for the gondola in Kriens since they are running constantly during the day. Just check the timetables online so you won't end up on the mountain over night... ;)
If you plan to go in the summer, or at sunny days, don’t plan your trip tooo tight as the train or cabins have limited capacity and you might have to wait some time... to go up AND/or to go down (first come first serve ;-))
I would therefore recommand you to go there in the morning already, so you don’t get stressed when on the top if you have to take a train to a further destination.
Got it... great advise I was thinking if it was better to go really early or wait a couple of hours but I guess I'll go in the morning 'cause in the evening I have to take a train.
hehe so googling "ticket to visit Mount Pilatus" was harder than asking here. literally the first result...
Wow.... if it bothers you so much why wasting the time typing a response? Did it not occur to you that maybe I wanted another advise other than the link I found on google? Thank you so much for using this social network the same way you use Facebook for... been a hater
? what makes you think it bothers me? i am just pointing out a possible attention whore. you did not ask for another advice, you asked for advises on how to purchase the ticket. i deleted facebook account about 7 years ago so i dont know what it is used for now. heheh "hater"... people using that word are so... intelligent.
I'm the attention whore and you are the one that goes around throwing shade on other people's request for advice??? Who is the real attention whore here? You should consider opening your FB account again, considering that you are using this network to be far less than mature, polite or helpful, which, by the way, is pretty much the purpose of Couchsurfing... Looking back at your comment, maybe you are just suffering from FB withdrawal and really need some drama in your life... Anyway, it was fun "fighting" you but I have other replies to go to.... oh and as an advice, next time, just click F5 and the upcoming requests from "attention whores" will eventually drop to the bottom so you don't have to take your precious time to point something that only you think.
wow. so frustrated. not getting any? and i know it is hard for you but you should google "attention whore" to understand what that is.
Yeah yeah, like a said wait of time... Thank you so much for the replies 😘
Thank you all for your replies, you have been really helpful.
