Have been wanting to take a Yellowstone trip and might do it mid August. Tips and experience anyone?

Yellowstone np is a great great road trip. I recommend the np pass as you'll be able to visit a bunch of np in Utah on the way up and back!
Love Yellowstone! The park is huge so I recommend taking a look at a map prior to your arrival and going to the visitor center if you need up-to-date information (approximate eruption times for Old Faithful, etc). Grand Teton NP is also close by so I would consider visiting if you have time. I wrote about my experience if you're interested in reading: http://lewildexplorer.com/wyoming-national-parks-road-trip/
Thanks Jeanine, your guidance and website, maps are all appreciated. I finally got my flight down and starting to book lodging. I'm hoping to stay inside the park as much as possible but things are hard to book even a month in advance. Thanks traveling guru 😁
Thx for your advice Mr Belu. I regret not getting that NP pass while i recently visited Sequoia.
I was there several years ago. Bring beer, you see why in the next few sentences. When you find a camping area that you like but the sign says the campsite is full, ignore it. Instead, drive through the camp area and find some cool looking people with an extra parking spot. See if they will share the campsite for a few bucks or shared beers. Then you have new friends and in my case a cute fling with a Canadian girl ;)
You're a pro Mr. Rob. May have to schedule a future trip on your path.
Have you thought about going with a group? You can book a 1,2,or 3-night bus trip (camping and bunks on the bus) from San Francisco with Green Tortoise Adventure Travel. Mostly 20-somethings on the bus...inexpensive and includes food! I went multiple times and it was less expensive then the ONCE I went alone.
Might give it a try on my next round :D
I did learn a lot in my first try. Great park. Same for Grand Teton and Jackson Hole.
