Ramadhan is celebrated in Sarajevo in the form it is never experienced in any other Muslim country , people make Iftars at home or with friends and then they go out in the city , have Their coffee drinks ,then they go for Taraveeh and back to coffee places , since there will very short time after taraweeh and Souhoor , they usually don't sleep till Souhoor , The streets are full of people till late night . It has a totally different culture of Ramazan , very unique and very specific to Sarajevo.

Sarajevo is a mixed city, there are people who dont fast and you are free to eat outside during the fast.... Baščaršija is a great place to find delicious food... try it

I believe there are many places open during the night, but mostly until 3-4AM then, thinking of both food places and regular cafes where youth or elder goes to sit and spend some time. The most popular place (cafe) for youth-ish people is "Divan", right next to "Morića han", and is open throughout the night. Closer to the river bank, or on the other side of Morića han, there might be more cafes that work during the night, but Divan kind of offers the "old atmosphere" if I may call it so, since the place looks as from 100 years ago perhaps, so that might be interesting.

Places for food that might not be bad are: Staklo (next to Čaršijska mosque), Sač (a 'buregdžinica', place that offers pies or pita as we call it, it's close to Staklo), and most of the 'buregdžinica' places in that area are good, so you might wanna try pita which is quite famous in Bosnia, but I think Staklo offers more meals.

I haven't slept much in the last days so I'm sooo tired and just can't think of much else, but if you need anything drop a message and will try to respond when I see it; and I might ask some friends in case they make iftar to invite you guys, but I'd rather try finding someone who doesn't make fast food etc., since there's no point in eating potatoes and rice etc. if you want to experience the real food of this area. Also, a place next to Bey's mosque called "Aeroplan" I think, might have traditional meals, but might be somewhat expensive, idk I don't go there. Good luck, if you need sth else, feel free to ask!

p.s. I mostly agree with what Dzavid wrote, and there are no special "don'ts", just common sense but I still don't think there'd be any problems whatever one might do, and for cultural activities, I suggest you go to a mosque and try finding someone around 20 years of age, and asking for potential info since the youth of that age who practices religion might know of something + you have greater chances of finding someone who speaks english vs. older people, I think. good luck
