Выпейте пива на улице Рождественская, пройдитесь по набережной до Чкаловской лестницы, поднимитесь наверх, осмотрите кремль, оттуда на улицу Большую Покровскую, перед площадью Горького сверните направо, и пройдите до Набережной Федоровского. Получится приятная прогулка на несколько часов.
Полностью согласен. Также порекомендовал бы проехаться на канатной дороге и заодно пройтись по Верхне-Волжской набережной
Ropeway Is not very exiting, from my opinion. It is high, but too long and the same view. Moreover, there is always a lo-o-ot of people waiting for their turn.
In every case I recommend you to go to "Yurkovka" -"Юрковка". Ploshad Minina 2. It is open till 19. It costs 100 rub, 50 for students and is unique. But don't see abot it in internet prior to going there! It it is better, when it is a surprise!!! Just go in and ask "Yurkovka". All people, went with me there were exited.
As for cafes: I like "Fonoteka" - ул. Большая Покровская, 46. I like also cafe "Ё-моё" (yo-moyo). Большая Покровская улица, 20 (Here I tasted only vegetarian dishes).

Walking is better not on pedestrian street, but in the old area: Ilyinskaya (Ильинская), Набережная Федоровского, Нижегородская, Малая покровская, and of course, Рождественская. They all are not far from the pedestrian street.
There are also "anticafes". One pays for time being there and has tee for free. One can take master-classes or just sitting (as relevant as ever with such wether) or celebrating. Have good time!
