Can I go to Mount Zirkel Wilderness by bus/public transportation?

Hola! Hi everyone!! I´m Bea from Guatemala and I will be in Steamboat for a week in september 13-20, I found photos of Mount Zirkel Wilderness in Internet, and I would love to have a nice Hike there but I have no idea of how can I go there. Any information or some advices about other activities are welcome! Best wishes! Bea

Bea, I just went up there with my little brother last weekend. If you would like to go for the day I could give you a ride just help me with gas. It is unreal how Beutiful it is it would be a hike 7 hours of hiking but not that steep. It is really unbelievable how beautiful it is. I would also suggest that you go out to strawberry park. Just before dark to see the butey of the springs. I have lived in many countries and know that many places reqire a car. I would be happy to help if you really want to go.

No public transportation will take you there. Let me know when you would like to go. I might be able to go with you and do some backpacking.

Sadly there is no public transport to the Zirkels, however you could probably hitch hike easily. If you stood on the corner of Lincoln Avenue (also called US40) and Elk River Road (also called County Road 129), it would be about a 40 minute drive north to the Zirkels. There is a restaurant called Moe's Original Bar-B-Que on that corner.

Hey Bea!

Unfortunately no transportation to the Zirkels. Its definitely worth a visit though. A popular hike is the Zirkel Circle. I'm out of town that week, would have loved to give you a ride! Enjoy your visit.
